*Breaking News* 2025 Orders from MARK DODGE **

Looks like I’ll be ordering it in granite then. My dealers rep keep saying any day for red lol

I thought it was open for setups without matching bumpers. I guess they changed their minds. I wonder if its a supplier issue.

MOLTEN RED is open for bighorn, tradesman, powerwagon/rebel (no night or sport however.
Black, white, granite, and forged blue metallic are open across the board.

Everything else is NOT open, and does not have an ETA that we have been told so far.
It is a growing probability that waiting for another color may be waiting into a higher price, if we experience cost increases.
A factory order placed is price protected, however.

I can't believe they did a column shifter again, when there's no longer any reason for it. I predict someone working out a swap to the rotary.
It's an electronic column

At what point are people going to start pushing back on price increases, decontenting, decreasing quality along with reliability issues?

I'm waiting to see how the '25's work out after my disaster of a '22. If they haven't changed course I'll start seriously looking at maybe a clean '16 through '18. My '18 was stellar.

Nickel and diming price is not the solution.

A bolt made pre-covid is not a bolt make post covid, no matter what we want to be true. The cost of dealing with covid for my business was very significant and required a lot of investment. Those costs still exists even though covid went away. The long term cost of buying more equipment and tools so that people could be more separated didn't change just because people imagine that it gone. I dealt with this myself in the aftermarket world.

The lawsuits on emissions added at least $10K - 20K to the price of every vehicle, and in the end, there was no significant reduction in total emissions, it was just BS / tax / money for lawyers.

What we don't want to admit is that the dollar has lost a substantial amount of buying power in the real world. The issue is not price, the issue is that our income has not doubled as the dollar has lost purchasing power. Other currencies are in even worse shape. Put more simply, if your income has not doubled in the past 15 years you are substantially worse off than before. ( mine has not )

I agree with you that the cost is high, and the reliability needs to be a big part of the focus.

The new cummins and ZF transmission are hopefully going to make a big difference.

I am not so sure about the display and electroncs though, some of that is provided by people in the phone / tablet industry and they don't have a clue about what real reliability means.

There's not even an option for a simple vehicle. Even if you want one it seems most now have all the electronics anyway, features aren't turned on but all the troublesome modules are there.

Electronic wise on my '22. 8.4 radio replaced. Alpine amplifier, MAF sensor, differential pressure sensor, BCM, trailer brake controller, DEF pump and sensor, two sets of batteries. That's just the electronic/electrical issues. This is by far and away the most unreliable vehicle I've ever owned. That's saying something, I bought a new Vega when it came out.

Fords appear to be even worse. Major discontenting, cheapening product and endless electronics and software issues.

Add to this the manufacturers have made things so complex and changes so fast the poor mechanics at dealerships become utterly beholden to the Star techs or whatever the manufacturer's support is who in many cases seem to know even less then the mechanics do. Even if they do know what's wrong, no parts.

Instead of focusing on what nifty electronics they can put in vehicles to sell our data and who has the most torque and horsepower how about fixing QC and reliability issues?

I'd love to have a new truck that lives in my driveway instead of the dealer with endless check engine lights and warnings I'll be walking if I don't fix something.

I'm going to see what the '25's bring. Hopefully somebody paid some attention to the problems of the current generation and are addressing the issues. I'll get one if so. The Mark dealer guys have seemed to be pretty straightforward with us. Hopefully I'll be trading with them later this year. :)

Pricing? I'm the wrong guy to ask LOL. I don't mean to be silly about it, but we have positioned ourselves to be the largest RAM dealer in US by a significant margin, by having arguably the best prices on the most consistent basis. So for me, and us, customers come to us because they like our price however that may compare to the overall RAM pricing metrics and average transaction price nationally.

Having said all that, the price conversation is a touchy one overall because it is very difficult to get the real data. There is a big difference between change in MSRP and what the vehicles actually sell for. And we're stuck with believing strangers on the internet if we get anecdotal evidence (even worse if they're a car salesman LOL) For example I ran the apples:apples math on Wrangler's last spring and found that the base model gas wranglers have had an average of a 3.3% price increase per year. My favorite (sarcasm) youtuber claims that Jeep raised MSRP 50% during covid. (Spoiler: That wasn't true)

Ram 1500s' have actually seen a significant INCREASE in standard content over the last few years, which they've done to justify the increase in price. A 1500 Laramie has gone up in price $21,000 through seven model years. IN 2024 to 2025 change, they added about $5K worth of content that was previously optional. Now if we're talking transaction price, the 2025 Laramies last month were getting $6500 off MSRP in most regions, I don't think that was happening at the $47K base price back in 2019 5th gen release. This DOES however jive with your comments about the vehicles becoming more complex. 100% true, they are. There are some very small de-contenting items on HDs but I think they're a small percentage of the overall value of the vehicle, but I can see if you were very attached to a particular item how it could seem that way (even if replaced with stuff you didn't necessarily want!)

Quality/reliability is quite subjective - JD power and Consumer Reports seem to love RAM brand lately, I'm sure that tune will change to sell magazines (or clicks?) and change the story soon enough. Remember that the forums are going to be filled with the most likely particpants - some passionate guys who just love to tinker, but also it's a place where people come to find solutions to problems. The large swaths of people out their with trucks just doing truck things may only come back online when they're ready to shop. I do believe also that the other mfrs are quite similar.... their forums look much the same when I noodle around there too.

I will leave the pricing thing to you and others more learned in the matter. I am just a consumer, however, I am also an enthusiast and why I am here. when you say "The large swaths of people out their with trucks just doing truck things may only come back online when they're ready to shop" is so true. I have a '21 3500 Laramie SRW, Cummins SO, long bed, and it has been excellent so far in 59K miles. Just replaced the batteries a few months ago, nary an issue. I have had 2 other Rams, both 1500's, one with the Eco Diesel, and the same story for both.

TODAY MY GOOD MAN! It is open on SOME of the trims, which is a start!

Any way you can check with your parts and see if they have :

I got my 2025 couple weeks ago and that part needs replaced according to my dealer but it’s on national backorder. I thought maybe since you guys are a high volume store maybe you would have one. I am supposed to leave in two weeks to drive from Indiana to the Grand Canyon with the kids pulling a the camper.
