What did you do TO your RAM today?

Mine is in Pre-opp right now. Just have to wash/ blow out the engine bay and flash the puter.

Ditto!
Seems like another reason to fully delete all that crap. I wonder what one would look like if it was fully deleted from the first mile and ran under the same conditions for the same mileage? Is there any risk of chunks of that breaking loose and destroying cylinder walls or pistons?
It would be bright silver if deleted off the lot. No soot or dirt whatsoever as long as the air filter was maintained. Ccv does not help the cause either. The engine is ingesting its own blowby and exhaust causing that black cake batter. I’ve never manipulated a piece of egr soot that thick to know if it would scar a cylinder wall.

Man that’s gross. It looks like your truck is a SO? I have noticed my crossover tube is purple like yours as well, indicating it’s gotten pretty hot. HO owners seems like their pipes aren’t as discolored. I think it was myself and @AH64ID discussing a while back if one uses more egr than another. Do you tow a fair amount of weight?

Yep
Yep, SO engine here. I was thinking the same about that discoloration on the crossover tube - there has been some serious heat in that thing over the years. Luckily now it is just there for decoration for anyone who should choose to inspect it.

Towing is mostly 10K lbs and under since I have owned it, but through the mountains of Northern AZ.

Mine has been in the body shop since March 18th. Some dipshit broke into it on March 15th through the driver side rear door window. Broken glass scratched up the door panel so its being replaced. Problem is that door panel is on backorder until May 12th.

There is a huge plastic baffle in the intake tract going to the turbo after I removed it I have noticed .4 mph better and if feels Less laggy maybe it’s placebo..
There used to be a muffler with foam that would help quiet intake noise, I guess that’s the modern version of it? Any increase in turbo whistle or exhaust brake rumble?

Decided the little stainless shock guards from Thuren weren't going to protect enough of the rear shocks from the gravel my front tires kick up, seeing as I spend a huge amount of my time of gravel roads. I don't want full boots because they can hold in crap, plus they only protect the shaft. Took some inspiration from some race trucks I've seen and cut some lengths of 1/8" thick x 4" wide neoprene rubber and attached it with stainless hose clamps to the shock. It goes about 3" up into the "pocket" where the top of the shock attaches, so that should keep the shaft protected as the shock extends. I've got 8 more feet of this stuff, so I can always make more if these turn out to not be long enough once I flex it out a bit. It's not quite as janky looking in person as it appears in the photos, but I may end up splitting it into one piece to cover the main body and a separate piece for the piggyback reservoir, eliminating the bend in the middle. This way does protect the nitrogen fill port on the top of the reservoir though.

Made and fitted a front hitch.

Side pieces are 1/2" plate. (Some steel removed to allow for the bumper support)
Main tube 3/8" section 3X3.
Hitch tube 18" long bought from a supply store.
5/8" bolts through a piece of 1/2 conduit as a sleeve though the frame. (Fitted perfectly)

I had added a bit more bracing to the original design for extra strength, but didn't get a picture before fitting.

A touch more cutting To the deflector and affix a support.

What do you use the front hitch for?
Most of the time would be for a cycle carrier, also as a front support for a 16' canoe, as I plan to upgrade the trailer to a fith wheel so would need canoe forward of the rear axle.

The materials it's built with are probably overkill, but I like to over engineer things and apart from the hitch tube all free stuff I had in the garage incase I'd use it one day.

I used the one in my old truck for a front carrier, bike rack, and launching my small fishing boat with my truck camper on (you can't see the boat until it is too late). I plan on installing a front hitch on my new truck.

Picked up a new 3500 DRW...
Been a busy weekend between holiday festivities and truck mods.
1. Installed Tyger steps
2.Removed dealer badges from mud flaps(also the only chrome on the truck)
3.Wired up a multi 12V outlet in passenger footwell using PTO harness for ground and upfitter 6 wire for IGN+
4.Installed fuel tank and tool box(no wiring yet)
Plan to start wiring up some lights and the power for the fuel tank in the next couple of weeks.

Finally completed the installation of OEM bed lights. This was an option I wanted but was not on the truck I ended up buying. I had installed the physical lights and routed all the wires back in 2020, but was a bit stumped/hesitant on physically connecting the wires since it required tapping into factory harness and depinning, and programming (I didn’t have alfaOBD at the time). Well, finally got it done.
