What did you do TO your RAM today?

I took my front sway bar off completely as soon as I got it home from the dealership. I had the Thuren sway bar on my 2020 and loved it, but I thought I'd give a try with nothing at all and I'm plenty happy with that. Were I carrying heavy or tall loads in the bed, like a truck camper or something similar I'd definitely want a front sway bar though, and I'd likely get the Thuren one.

You guys are tempting me to try this no sway bar in the front. I dislike the beating everyone inside gets when entering or exiting an off camber approach, speed bump, etc. Hmmmm

It’s the 5 gallon stealth spare tire delete kit. I have 37’s so my spare doesn’t fit under the truck. Figured I would do something to fill that space.

New Shoes. Kumho Road Venture AT52 at 295 60R20. I bought them before the new import taxes kick in- happy about that. Nice, quiet AT tire that is also 3PMS rated. View attachment 84503
Thanks for posting (pretty much set on this size)! Most go for 295/65’s but since I tow a 5v’r I don’t want to go a full 35, not many pics of the 295/60’s!

Gave the truck and caravan a tub today, will be cleaning the caravan inside tomorrow and pack so we are ready to take off on Wednesday for Easter holidays and a week extra on the road that will also entail a long range tank install at one of the most famous American truck shops in Australia called Big Dog Builds.

Hey. Same situation here wrt towing a 5th Wheel. My setup is perfectly level right now and I didn't want to go nose high on the trailer by going with much larger diameter tires. The 295 60R20 is only 0.4 inches bigger diameter than stock, so a bit less than 1/4 inch radius/higher. Won't notice that, will still be nice and level.

Also, bigger radius tires means you are effectively reducing your final drive ratio, which adds stress and strain to the drivetrain. My trailer on the small side. But guys that tow heavy get in transmission trouble by putting big tires, effectively reducing the final drive ratio, then (maybe unknowingly) towing in Overdrive 5th and 6th gears and then wondering why they overheated their transmission and smoked the clutches.

Problem with 295/60R20 is low tire selection most tires are in this size, at least that I've found, are MT’s. Not exactly the best towing tires.

You really have to go big to have a negative effect on final drive ratio. 19-24’s have 3.73’s and the 13-18’s had 3.42’s without any issues. It takes a tire that rolls at 35.5” with 3.73’s to get the effective ratio of stock tires on 3.42’s, so basically a 37. You’re not going to get into any issues with a 35” or smaller tire for towing heavy. As far as the trans use TH and whatever gear the truck shifts into is the proper gear 95% of the time, or more. 5th and 6th are plenty strong to tow heavy in.

Drained my hood.

Hasn’t rained since Monday but noticed my truck dripping water behind the driver front tire.

Figured it was the hood. It was.

I have the same issue. Never considered the hood was holding the water. I have been trying to track down the location holding the water for a year now. However, I don't recall seeing water coming out of the hood in any quantity while I was trying to figure it out. The thing will drip for days after a heavy rain. On one occasion the cab filter was soaked with water causing an air flow problem. However that was on the passenger side.IMG_3382.jpg

2 options are drill small holes towards the front so the water does not build up, or second is remove the hood emblems and rtv around the seal and reinstall to block the water from entering at the source.

I would take it to the dealer and ask them, how embarrassed are you that a newly new truck collects water in the hood. This has to be an issue Ram knows about and they should have a simple fix for it, at least one would think they do.

There’s a TSB for updated badges with better foam to block it out. Falls under the 3/36 though so probably out of luck there.
