This is why I need new tires

$50 less per tire than the Falken, but 40k mile warranty vice 60k for the Falken.

Definitely not real world numbers once you start shopping @ $50/tire size for size and availability. I have a friend that has run a few sets of Pategonia tires (not X/T) and they have treated them well. Tires are so subjective. Best of luck.

I'm tempted to buy a set of A/T3W while still available and stash them away. I typically don't get to the time limit before needing a set so I could give up a year or 2, even though I tend not to get anywhere near the mileage most do.

But, there's always someone with a different opinion

Too bad that the guy is testing the Falkens in snow in Kentucky which isn't in the snowbelt of the lower 48, Canada, and Alaska. In colder regions the tire's grip on snow and ice may become hockey pucks the colder it gets. Glad that he's happy with the tires.

The way tires are if you have the space to store them that’s not a bad idea.

On my 2024 3500 I run Maxxis Razar AT 295/70/18 and absolutely love them. Got them even on my caravan.
BFG has always been overrated and over prised here in OZ but the KO3 seems to have really got everybody's attention.
I just ordered the Maxxis RAZR ATs in 285/75R18s (skinny 35s) so its awesome to hear you like them. Working up to an epic MTB trip in April and didnt think my OEM Trashforces had another 4,000 mi on them - even without the heavy wear on the outer edges of the fronts since the last rotation (getting alignment checked and set to Thuren specs before they come in). Saw the Maxxis while getting bike tires and figured it was meant to be.

I had that same thought for my 18” hunting wheels (My ST Maxx’s have some life left so I could wait to install them or sell the ST Maxx’s since I’m not in love with them), but I’m leaning towards putting the same tires that are on my 20’s on the 18’s. I’ve been really happy with the Duratrac RT’s, but our main hunting area needs a bit more sidewall than the 20’s have.

I can't get into the BFG or Falken conversation as Ive never owned a set of either one, nor do I live where it snows so snow driving is a rare encounter for me. However, we do a LOT of dirt, gravel, rock, and sand.... sand is the worst.... and a little mud unless I can avoid it. I just spent the last week researching, reviewing, reading, and watching everything I could find about all the tire choices out there, and I decided on a set of Kenda Klever R/T in 285/75r18. The last two sets of Kenda tires I had were on one of my quads and an old Pacific mountain bike LOL. Anyhow, they ticked all the boxes-- available in the size I wanted, aggressive tread and sidewall, supposedly excellent off-road and sand capability, good on-road manners, 3-ply sidewall, 129 load index, excellent reviews consensus, and available from the Walmart 3 miles from me at a very attractive price. ;)

I wound up picking up a set of the Bridgestone Dueler Ascent’s from Costco a couple weeks ago. Ended up a little over $1300 out the door in the stock 275/70/18 size.

I’ve got a couple hundred miles on them and so far I’m impressed. Zero change in fuel economy, super quiet and smooth ride.

I opted to stick with the stock size this go around, I’ll likely bump up in size next time.

Now that you've had the tires awhile, how is the noise level?

New tyres yesterday
Fitted Yokohama GO16’s
Except for only getting 40,000km out of the Maxxis Razar it was a insane tyre otherwise.

Those look great. Is that stock ride height? When you get a chance can you see how many plies they are on tread and sidewall and where they are made? Thanks!

It says 10 ply on the side as seen in the photo and Yokohama are Japanese tires but made in the US same as toyo. FYI the guy you quoted lives down under so I doubt he cares if they’re US made

I bought this truck new in 2022. Have put 27000 miles on it snf the tires are nearing the wear bars. I do outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and homesteading and the Firestones aren't cutting it.
Jesus. This is why i bought new tires and had them put on my truck before i even left the dealership when i picked it up. I only knew better specifically from reading this forum, thanks everyone! You likely saved my first HD truck from becoming a submarine on a wet launch ramp along with my boat because of these ****ty tires :)

The tires are now just taking room in my garage. Have had them on FBMP for a while now and no one has even offered :D
