TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

Just buy a Tireminder or TFT.
It definitely is not as seamless but an option. I have only attempted to use the ram ttpms once. I programmed it all and it worked great.. parked the trailer , hooked up a couple months later and all the sensors were forgotten. This is after I spent time retrofitting and buying 12 sensors for my other trailers... I haven't re programmed them yet but will eventually try again

Before you reprogram -

With truck on in park go to trailer settings and pick a profile you are not using and set it as the current trailer. Then go to the one with the paired sensors, set it as the current trailer and see if they have returned.

It was the same and only trailer, But I will try again could definitely be user error

You should have spots to add 3 or 4 trailer profiles. One profile is the one you set your sensors up on. When you are on that screen select one of the unused(like the last one) profiles and make it the active profile. The go back and select the profile you programmed the sensors under(probably the first one) and make it the active profile. Then look under the TPMS section and see if they show active again- its a work around for the problem you are describing without pairing them all over.

Ask me how I know haha

I have a few questions:

When “turning on the sales code” where is the sales code? Is it already in the trucks computers and just needs to be activated? Or is the sales code within the TIM module or the bumper module and needs to be activated once installed?
Or… does the OBD PROGRAMMER install it?
Where does that software / TTPMS app come from..? Just turning to learn how that part works.
I know.. don’t goto, don’t ask the dealer !!!
Before I was told that… two dealers said the “sales code” in not in the trucks computer to be turned on… I’d that because the hardware is NOT installed yet ? Thanks ahead, trying to understand the programming of it.

Which is the better OBD programmer the AlfaOBD or JScan ?

I ordered the OBD adapter
https://a.co/d/3D8Ox5m

..and I ordered the OBD BLUE TOOTH https://a.co/d/3KzpdEm
( Is this right for RAM3500? the description says GM & FORD?)

I’m ready to pull the trigger on the OEM component BUT I saw a list of best places to order and I can find that now… can someone direct me back to that page that shows the best places to order the OEM parts please. Thanks.

One last question, once this all gets installed, and granite it all ends up working..
Will this TTPMS also have the tire pressure low pressure threshold alarm? I’ve heard visual and audio alerts.. is this the way it works ?

Thank you guys

The dealer can only enable what is tied to your vin. they can call a regional rep to get it added to a vin but more often then not the rep won’t do that. If they make a kit like bed lights that mopar sells then they can enable it. The programmer communicates with the vehicle and tells the vehicle your truck has that option. the cable you bought off of amazon works and works well but like i learned the hard way it is a pita to use because you have to remove your gauge cluster (speedometer) a better option is https://www.kaodtech.com/product-page/security-module-bypass it is quicker and you don’t have to use any tools to make a change. Alfa only works with android so it is more popular but jscan can do everything but it will be harder to find information on exactly what to do because it is not as prevalent , i use jscan and think i finally have it figured out but when i have questions i ask and i get answers so it works. you set the pressure thresholds on the radio same as if you bought the truck with the option. i think i addressed all your questions if not let me know and i will answer them. i personally did this upgrade

Alfa vs jsacan
I have an old iPhone 12 Pro (old new) so I down loaded the JScan app and for AlfaOBD on the app stores but.. I have a windows laptop, would I be better off using AlfaOBD on that laptop?
That KAODteck cable… drops the connects to under the steering column. I ordered one of those from Infotainment.com
I’m upgrading ALL the front halogen crappy lights to infotainment’s OEM LED lights. Headlights and Fog lights. I’ll likely buy their third brake light camera / digital rearview mirror kit as well.

Honestly if you’re even slightly mechanically inclined and willing to go through a few extra steps don’t use infotainment. Infotainment is easy but you pay for easy. I changed from halogen to oem ram headlights and it was just like 10 settings to manually change ( infotainment s module will change them for you.) btw try bam wholesale for parts. Edit to add i never used alfa so i can’t comment on that.

Thanks for the Bam Wholesale suggestion. I didn’t see the digital rear view mirror or the third brake light camera there. Are there kits for those?
I did see the light kit for the bed of the truck. It’s about half the price of what infotainment sells it for.
Bed lighting kit SKU: C-KITBED-HD $519.95

Does RAM sell a “KIT” for the third brake light with camera ? Maybe I should ask that in a different area of this forum? Is there a page for that 3rd brake light setup ?

One last thing..
I ordered the vLink MC+ but reading further it says GM / Ford. Is that thing gonna also work for the 2024 RAM 3500 ?
Ordered off amazon:

It will work in concert with AlfaOBD, there may be some functions of that adapter that will not work on a Ram.

Is there a BETTER adapter to get? I can return this one IF a know better one is available.
I use this one with jscan and it does everything i need. Once again i can’t comment on allfaobd. IMG_3238.jpeg

Will work very well.

Not true.

The vGate MC+ is the best current well priced recommended option. Any doubts, ask @Jimmy07 , he will confirm.

There's nothing it won't do on a Ram that the double the price OBDLINK MX+ will do.

It works with both JSCan and AlfaOBD and both Android and Apple.

(caution that I had some difficulty getting Android connected to the BT, (it wants to connect to the iOS BLE) but once I got my tablet connected, it's been rock solid and never fails to connect. The MX+ actually often has to be unplugged/replugged or the BT pair button pushed if it hasn't been used in a while.

I use the MC+ with my tablet for Torque, and the MX+ with my phone for AlfaOBD, both running at the same time on a splitter.

NOPE !!!!
No way in hell am I ordering parts from that bam place…. The person on in the email was just like the service guy at the dealership.
Just don’t ask them questions…
They seriously have no clue

What do you expect them to know?

If you're asking technical questions, that's just not a reasonable ask of a parts wholesaler.

Brutal,
I think I saw somebody posted on here a list of where to buy the different TTPMS components from some ram parts dealer with good prices and then I think the tire sensors were from another place, but I can’t find that. Can you repost it if you have it cause I’m ready to order all the parts now.
I’m gonna make this happen!!!
