Official 2025 Ram HD

I just started watching the final season, so no spoilers, but the ending looked pretty final for Kevin, unless they do a sort of "Kevins of yellowstone past" thing…

Did you see the first 5 minutes of final season episode 1?

If you are on Mark Dodges mailing list they sent something that shows them, and they talk about the going down for the Diesel due to the cast iron block.

Does anyone know if towing and payloads charts have been released?

There are "preview" charts on the Ram Builder site (now a paywall/members only site).

I don't see the payloads on the 3500 at least have gone down, but maybe the towing numbers have.

Looked through some docs. A couple interesting highlights:

  • Adaptive cruise/collision detection/braking is now standard on all trims
  • LED headlights and taillights are standard on all trims
  • The CHMSL rear view mirror camera is removable/relocatable for use on a cap or slide in camper
  • All the trucks appear to have solid center "fake grill" panels in the lower bumper instead of perforated grills like before
  • Power steps are no longer available on Rebel
  • Rebel and PW base come with the regular hood. The "Sport Performance Hood" requires level 1 or 2
  • 3500 Cummins max payloads went down due to the increased weight of the new engine and transmission, which is close to the same amount that the 2500 Cummins GVWR went up, leading me to believe that we shouldn't expect any increased payload on Cummins 2500s.

Noticed a few other things playing around with the build and price:

Red/black seating option on the Limited.
The colors on the Longhorn look much better to me (darker browns).
The AUX switches appear to be only 4 buttons.

Also, Cummins has a bunch of info up on their site too about the new engine and trucks.

According to the fleet guide the rebel has front and rear lockers. Guide was updated, rear locker only on the Rebel.

No mention of axle size, curious is all 6.7’s get the 12.0” or do the 2500’s keep the 11.5”.

Only gas reg cabs are excluded from the auto-level, so maybe the order code books will get updated.

According to the fleet guide and one of the videos I watched the Tradesman and BH/LS still have incandescent tail lights with an option for an LED upgrade.

I seem to recall seeing something that they all have the 12" rear. If that's the case, the OE 3.73 or 4.10 R&P from the gasser ought to drop right in for all the Karens complaining about the 3.42. LOL.

(Or those wanting to run bubba tires)

Also means there is an e-locker for the 12” R&P now.

unless it’s only available on the gas trucks with the old 11.5 rear axle. Some of these videos of the 2025 show a “axle lock” button on the 4x4 switch set and some videos show the regular 4x4 switch we currently have. Hard to tell what’s going on with the rear locker or what HD truck they would come on.

Not sure this guide is right.. it says all models standard V8?
I've been told by one of the AEV guys that air level will be available for the 3500 - but RAM is just working out the initial orders and will update the order guides later.

The ‘23 and ‘24 Rebels (and I assume PW) are using the 12” housing with an 11.5” ring gear. I’d bet the locker would fit the 12” gearset too.

The guide has been updated since yesterday, and now shows separate locker configurations for Rebel (rear only) and PW (F/R).

All models are standard V8. The fleet spec quite doesn’t differentiate between cabs in that manner.

If you’re referring to mega cabs only having a diesel option you can see that with the differential gearing. It says 3.73 and 4.10 are not available on a mega cab, and further that 3.42 are standard on the mega cab which requires the diesel option.

All 19+ HD’s, aside from the PW 19-22, use the 12” housing. The guts just depended on gas/SO vs HO.

From what I recall the 11.5 and 12.0 carriers are different, so there would have to be a 12.0 e-locker version.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if 2500’s kept the 11.5” R&P even with the increased torque since their GVWR/GCWR didn’t go up. Ford/GM have both had different 3/4 vs 1 ton rear axles with a single power rating.

As far as the Cummins updates.... isn't it strange that out of the Big 3 it ended up being Cummins that redesigns and updates their engine every couple of years to address issues and make improvements now? I really would have never guessed that ten years ago. The "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality didn't work for Cummins I guess.

I do like the new oil/fuel filter locations though. The prior oil filter location was a major PITA.

Few things I noticed:

- Hemi down from 410hp to 405hp
- Hemi now comes with 200amp alternator standard, dual is listed as 400amp. 180amp was standard, with 220amp upgrade, or dual at 380amp (220+160)
- No more manual/floor shift transfer case.

Bigger alternator might explain some of the hp loss in addition to the emissions changes?

Having both fuel filters being engine mounted def seems to be a plus, curious how they handle drain for potential WIF issues, but it's prob straight forward. Prior location of the oil filter honestly never bothered me. You take maybe 1-2 minutes with a cheap, reusable, plastic tool and never have a mess or issue.

I'm honestly most excited for the new ZF trans, but I'm gonna wait a few years before I do anything. Overall seems like solid upgrades, but I'm suspect of some of the 6.7 changes, curious how they work over time.
