TransferFlow Replacement Tank for Hemi

Team,
Is there any update or progress update from Transfer Flow on supplying the awaited bigger capacity fuel tank project for PW?

I spoke to TF recently and they told me they'd purchased a 2024 2500 CCSB Hemi to do design work with, and they asked me for some photos from my truck. My guess is we're looking at 6 months minimum, but that's completely speculation. At least we know it's moving forward.

has anyone checked into one of these for a replacement tank?

Several tried and failed. It doesn't fit physically due to shape and frame crossmember location.

Thanks for sharing this update, which signals favorable progress and promising delivery of the long-awaited replacement bigger tank.

Hope the production will be fast-tracked to ensure seizing the opportunity out of the sales momentum cranked by many serious buyers.

Who takes the early move wins the edge, as proved by the market. Sustaining the win is the next phase.

UPDATE!

TransferFlow's replacement tank is progressing. As of today, the tank is 50 gallons and is designed to fit the CC SB 6.4 V8 Hemi.

However, they are still investigating to ensure it fits the 2019-2022 model years. PLEASE SEND THEM PHOTOS PER BELOW!!!

TransferFlow needs to validate any fuel system changes made to the 2019-2022 model years. (OEMs often change small details, even though they say the truck is "carry-over" from the previous model year.)

TransferFlow needs the following information on 2019-2022 Ram CC SB 2500/3500 with 6.4 V8 Hemi (they already have the photos for the 2023 model year):

Pictures of:
· Vin Number
· Emissions Label
· OEM Tank
· OEM Emissions Canister
· Hoses (tubing between canister and tank)

Please send photos to Teri at TransferFlow. Her email is [email protected]!

If you want to be added to the wait list for the new tank, please email Teri or visit: https://tran.nomad.site/suggest-a-product.

THANKS!

Man, I sure wish this would work for my 2023 Mega Cab

Spoke with Tim Wells at Transfer Flow today regarding the larger gas tank for the 5th generation 6.4L Hemi and asked for an update. This was his reply:

“Thank you for checking in. We are on track to have this tank complete by early November.”

Fingers crossed

Thanks for the update, that's great news! I hadn't heard anything for a while, so I was planning to reach out to TF soon.

PS I like the LedFloyd username, I might have gone with PageGilmour, ha :)

Thanks for taking up the matter and am truly glad to note this update on the progress, which signals that the project is active and marching towards completion.

Coincidentally, yesterday I enquired with Teri but I received an auto reply indicating that he’s “out of office”. Hence, I’ll count on the above update as the latest info.

Let’s hope for the best.

Sounds to me like Sol Invictus gift!!! :D

I got an update from Terry @ Transfer Flow.

The good news is that the replacement tank project is still moving forward and the prototype will be completed “soon.”

The bad news is that unforeseen delays have pushed the release date to “mid to late 2025”.

My understanding is that the delay primarily relates to the complicated emissions system on the RAM (apparently more complicated than on the Ford F-Series), and the fact that RAM made some tweaks to the emissions systems (and tank fitment) over the model years that the replacement tank is intended for.

While the prototype tank is due “soon”, several milestones remain: durability testing (can take several months), CARB testing and approval, then receiving the EO (Executive Order) from CARB, which can take another couple of months.

I’ll report back when I hear anything new. I would expect we’ll get specs on the tank once the prototype is complete.

Well, some more news:

As of now they're expecting the tank to be 44 gallons, and still be about $2800. They're considering bumping it up to 50 gal, but that would require them to make the tank taller, which would require a new fuel sender and raise the price another $400.

I've asked if "taller" means down towards the ground (meaning less clearance) or up into the frame more. Hopefully the latter, though man, $3200 for 19 extra gallons is pretty steep.

I've asked TF how much ground clearance is lost with the prototype 44G tank and how much is lost with the hypothetical 50G tank? Basically it comes down to the height of the tank, because I'm assuming that the top of the tank will be recessed into the frame to the furthest extent possible (the factory tank itself is fairly snug to the top). Will report back when I hear anything.

Man.... that's a chunk of cash for 12-ish gallons... and another 400 for 6 more...
Was hoping it would be about 2800 for the 50 gallons.

That was my hope as well. I’m starting to eyeball that 15 gallon Sidekick tank that Titan makes for $350, though I definitely wouldn’t rig up some kind of transfer pump to an aux switch.

I’ve got one, nice to have for peace of mind but not exactly convenient……….

No idea about the validity/legalitybut it’s my understanding you can have a gasoline transfer tank, it just has to pump out from the top, no gravity feed.
