New Ram 2500 Leaks

I'm noticing these small oil stains on my concrete driveway. Slid under the truck tonight with a flashlight and found the transmission is leaking along the seal of the housing and also the transfer case is leaking. 517 miles on the truck. So sad, so disappointed. I guess this why Stellantis sales are so poor.

Idk whats worse you thinking RAMs sales are poor or the fact that you think the differential is a trans or transfer case.


the pinion seal is sweating but thats not an active leak that would leave a mark on your driveway. There is a reason for warranty and the 2024s seem to be common for t case output shaft seal issues

Could be timing cover.

Any pics of the actual trans then? Was the fluid red? I could just be oil from the engine making its way back.

That's not bad. Leaky plug isn't something they can really test at the factory anyways. Sheeeit, even the best engine builders in the country deal with leaks.

I had so much trouble with a loaner. The MOPAR extended warranty is supposed to cover it but they say there are no loaners available. What is the point of making a perk of the warranty be a loaner car if there is insufficient amounts kept around? Anyway - after they determined it would be about 2 months of my truck in the shop for warranty work (I think 2 months at the minimum that is) they sent me to a nearby dealer that is also owned by the same group and gave me a loaner. You might want to ask if you can get one from a cheaper brand of car (my loaner is a Toyota).
 
In Texas, from how I read it, if your truck is out of service for 30 days you are entitled to a lemon law buyback unless they offer you a loaner. My dealer’s policy is that they don’t have loaners but when I told them I needed one they just pulled a new truck out of inventory and just gave it to me. I had it for 5 days.

Concerning my oil leak, I got my truck back Wednesday, Oct 2nd.

FROM THE INVOICE:

Fluid Leak Concern (Customer states oil leaking from front end of vehicle)

Tech 753 confirmed concern, determined source of engine oil leaking from right rear cylinder head core plug. Added bearing mounting sealant, reinstalled plug, cleaned affected area of oil, set oil level to spec, test drove vehicle, verified repair, no return of fault.

I will say that from the purchase all the way through the warranty service, I received nothing but courtesy and respect from the team at Blake Fulenwider Automotive in Clyde, TX. I was called sir at every turn and everyone always greeted me and spoke to me with a smile. They furnished a loaner for me right off of the new car lot without batting an eye. I recommend them highly.
 
Some dealers are just better at being better, that's for sure.

I appreciate the kind of service you received as well. The most noteworthy to me here is they kept it simple. A little sealer on the plug and you're back in business. I've had dealers replace major components and tell me its the only way they can fix things...
