How many miles on your 4.5 gen diesel??

I looked at God only knows how many YouTube videos and articles when shopping for my 2024 3500 HO, and at least half of them refer to the truck as a 5th gen. Huh. Welp, I guess technically they are incorrect.... yet still, somehow, I knew what they were talking about and the trucks they were referring to. I'll change the thread title to read 4.5 gen, just in case.

I just spent a few minutes clicking some stuff too. Correct me if I'm wrong (still learning this stuff!) but it appears maybe the term "5th gen" refers only to the 1500 model trucks, and not any HD trucks? Cuz if that is indeed the case, then I understand why our HD trucks are not "5th gen" and the references I've heard/read are using the term technically incorrectly, as I have.
That’s correct. The 1500s got a 5th gen already. Nice big cabin. Nice trucks.

2022 2500 6.7 SO, Laramie, Purchased 16k miles has 82k miles.

Issues so far have been;
  1. starter that went out after 200 miles from purchase (approx. 16k miles)
  2. CEL P2459 code when switched from glueless air filter to glue stripped and corrected by switching back (approx 60k miles)
  3. Misalignment & Pull to right from curb hopping predominately fixed after leveling kit was aligned (approx 75k miles)
  4. CEL P202E code that so far cleared after cleaning the injector (soon to replace with new injector, approx 82k miles)
  5. Plan to visit a weight-loss doctor in the future.
I have enjoyed the 82k miles so far with plans to run till it burns up. Personal belief that GMC has better seats comparing my fathers 2022 to my 2022. But shes a work horse that loves to get stuck in mud.

My 19 has about 61k miles. She's been a good rig.
Had a few hiccups. Biggest complaint is wheel hub went bad right after warranty expired. Nothing too serious.

2019 4.75 gen w/103k miles. bought new in July 2019. been a great truck.

Love the truck, hate that I'm dealing with lifter drama.

I have a 2022 GMC company truck, and I dislike the seats, my shoulders do not fit in-between the side risers on them and I'm not that big of a guy.

Yeah Im having a similar issue with my truck. I noticed the right pull and misaligned steering wheel (gotta hold the wheel at about 11 o'clock to keep the truck straight) on our first test drive. Tech dept at the dealership put in on the rack and it was slightly out of spec, which they said they corrected. I drove the truck again (before purchase) and still it pulled to the right, though not quite as bad, and the steering wheel slightly out (about 11:30). Then the service dept said its likely a bad tire because the rack says its right on the money. So, before delivery, they put a new set of Firestone AT2's on it (it had HT2's from the factory, I requested the all-terrains and the dealership obliged) and I took it for a quick drive. Unfortunately I didn't get it on the freeway for that drive but it felt pretty good at 45 mph so I figured it was fixed. We signed the papers and I hit the freeway for the trip home (2 hrs) when I noticed NOPE, it still pulls and the steering wheel is still outta whack. So, now its in the service dept at a different dealership and we'll see what they come up with. My guess at this point, some jackwagon before me hopped a curb on a test drive and something under there got tweaked. Dealership #2 is supposed to call me with their findings tomorrow.

2022 Bighorn 27k so far zero issues except it went through the factory tires already ! I think it regens to often but it’s most likely in my head. If i had to buy it again all i would change is buy a higher trim level.IMG_2277.jpeg

2019 HO srw short bed. 114,000 miles. Mighty Whitey has been a great truck so far. I had the 8.4 with Nav radio replaced under warranty. I started getting more frequent regens this summer but Archoil treatment seems to have cured it for now. Long term emission is the only concern I have. My old 04 has almost 500,000 and still going strong.

first 6.7 i owned, 2009 ram 3500 dually - 125k miles

10 month old 2023 2500 Laramie with 22k. Had a leaky transfer case rear seal at 900 miles, and p2459 frequent regen code in the first month. Dealer replaced the transfer case, but had no resolution on the regen issue. I work from home, so lots of short low speed trips as my winter daily driver. It was doing an auto regen every 70-120 miles. I let my wife start driving it to work a couple days a week (60 miles round trip, mostly highway) and it started getting to 300-400 miles between regens, archoil helped some also. Once spring hit and I started towing our camper I haven’t seen a single soot based regen, only the 24 engine hour regens. I have a summer car that I drive for short trips and daily driver duties. This winter I expect to go back to frequent regen issues, this truck only seems to like towing or long highway runs at 70+.
