Too much oil and poor dealer help

I guess I’ll be the oddball and say that for the issues you have had I expected much worse. I was expecting to see copper on them.

I was expecting worse as well. They only pulled 3 so a few more to inspect. I will follow up Monday for their photos.

any updates? hoping the best for ya

Well they did not find any abnormal wear on the bearings or rod ends. They emailed me Friday afternoon and said that all the injectors were replaced and it was running. They are going to do live testing this week to see if the soot level keeps rising or anything else is out of wack. I should have my truck back this week and still working another angle but it's all time.

Cant believe that thing was put back together, did they change the bearings? While not significant wear you wouldn't expect that at the mileage and age your truck has.

I would say hard to believe but after all I have seen I have zero faith in FCA. We were looking at a new Wagoneer for the wife and we ended up going with a GMC Yukon just because of my truck. The way things are going i will probably be stuck with my truck and FCA will take no fault or make it right.

That sucks. My 2500 is in for slipping 5th gear so we will see if Ram honors their warranty with AEV like they're marketed.

I agree they should have rolled in a new set of rod bearings and if the mains looked like the one photo we saw all new main bearing too, JMHO

Update.

Got the call my truck was ready for pick up. They drove it for 2 days to see if it built soot level and it hadn't moved. I will have to continue to monitor it and oil level. Seems to be running better only time till tell. Hopefully Ram will pull their head out of their ass and make it right, they still have some time.

The dealer left the repair amount on my invoice $26K!!! And unknown amount from the last dealer and now this they are over what I paid for my truck. I have $10k in rental reimbursement.20240808_062731.jpg

And they wonder why their share holders are mad and sales are down......
I cant see how this truck specifically makes business sense. Its now costed them more than the sticker price which means several thousands more than it cost to make. Every bit of the business training Ive had, you cut losses and move on.

I’ll bet they just drove it around locally and didn’t hit any highway. My DPF gauge almost never moves until I hit the highway. How many miles did they put on your truck those 2 days?

Just got confirmation 100miles. So soot level is 133miles since repairs.

FWIW, my most recent regen from (mostly) around town driving on my 2020 HO:
Last active regen (gauge ~45%) was 342 miles, @16 hours, (6 idle 10 drive).
I was forced to stop (work site visit) before regen completed.
It took approx 60 mins total (30/30) and 35 miles (15/20). The first half was city (boulevard) driving up to 55 or so, took and a few miles highway @70+, about 30 mins total. I detoured my destination and drove highway as long as I could afford timewise.
On my return trip home I took a different route that is 95% highway. Traffic was light so I was able to maintain higher speeds. Added more detour past the house and it finished after ~30 mins.
EGT temps post DPF hovered between 930-1080. On that higher end if I was running 85+

Yeah I'll keep monitoring it. I am on site rest of the day and short trip back to the shop. I'll be doing decent traveling tomorrow and over the weekend. Maybe it will stay at 1/4 but that has not been the case lol. I don't have a banks Guage so can't monitor anything besides miles and soot level.
