Since your truck was identified under 71A I would like to include it in the spreadsheet if you’re willing to share some info on itCorrect, the dealer ordered the parts proactively, the parts have not arrived. Truck is operating normally currently.

So definitely didn’t get it back then right? Let me know. I’m trying to keep the spreadsheet up to date and accurate as possible5 weeks later dealer says truck is ready, I’m waiting an hour and a half before they come tell me the check engine light is on and throwing multiple codes.
Well, I decided to fix the problem a different route. I traded it for a 2024. Gained the factory air ride.Since your truck was identified under 71A I would like to include it in the spreadsheet if you’re willing to share some info on it
Can’t blame you at all.Well, I decided to fix the problem a different route. I traded it for a 2024. Gained the factory air ride.
We are in a situation with a very long trip planned this summer. Did not want to take a chance on the transmission going out.
Finally got my serial number for the sheet. Over 12k now and stiil good.Hi all,
I stumbled upon this thread last night and just wanted to say thanks to the community for all effort to put together a resource like this- just amazing! I've got a Jan 22 build date on my 3500 and just shy of 10k miles with no trouble (knock on wood.)
Your transmission did not fail correct? Finally got my serial number for the sheet. Over 12k now and stiil good.

Will do.Add me to the list please Sean Healey Ordered: March 22 Built: 7-22 Delivered: 9-22 Failure: 16,000 Towing: Yes Forward 1-4: NO Reverse: Yes Other: Whitten Brothers Ram of Ashland Virginia rebuilt the trans. Broke down 7-27-24 and vehicle completed 8-8-24
Two more questions:Add me to the list please Sean Healey Ordered: March 22 Built: 7-22 Delivered: 9-22 Failure: 16,000 Towing: Yes Forward 1-4: NO Reverse: Yes Other: Whitten Brothers Ram of Ashland Virginia rebuilt the trans. Broke down 7-27-24 and vehicle completed 8-8-24
Serial number: 2F-3612 Also I went to my dealer 6 months ago when I heard about these failures. I gave them my VIN and they said there was no recall or anything my truck needed. I thought I was outside of the the known failure. But I have the repair order and it was the K1 clutch snap ring failure for sure. I never received and mailing and the website doesn't show anything other than a recall for emissionsTwo more questions:
1. What is your transmission serial number?
2. Did you receive a notice in the mail, or check online, that your truck was identified as under the customer satisfaction notice 71A for snap ring failure?
I have filed my complaint with NHTSAWill do.
Did you file a report with the NHTSA?
That’s not uncommon unfortunately. I have added about 20 trucks to the spreadsheet in the last month or two that were confirmed K1 failures, but none of them were identified as affected under CSN 71A. Rams own official document says approximately 5,440 trucks were affected but I suspect that number may be much higher.Serial number: 2F-3612 Also I went to my dealer 6 months ago when I heard about these failures. Thanks for doing this. I cant believe that this problem can be so widespread but RAM is ignoring it. I was literally stuck on the side of I95 in virginia. I was able to get it rolling down the highway and coasted into the closest RAM Dealership but it was 2PM on a Saturday so I was basically stranded there with a 5th wheel attached. Whitten Brothers of Ashland Virginia were spectacular!! Ordered parts and had the repair complete in 8 business days. That’s not uncommon unfortunately. Dammit and I thought I was in the clear at 40kFor those following along:
I just had two K1 failures reported to me by the same owner. Two trucks, one with 111,000 miles and the other with 100,800 miles. Trucks were ordered at the same time and failed just shy of a month apart. One has already been fixed, since it failed last month. The other truck failed yesterday evening. These are by far the highest mileage k1 failures I’ve documented to date.
