Disabling RSRA (Rear Seat Reminder Alert)

Not sure about the 12, but on my 8.4 it can be disabled under Vehicle >Settings>Safety & Driving AssistanceView attachment 67548
Holy crap!!!! I thought this was like the Loch Ness monster. It's rumored to exist, and some people claim to have first hand experience, but nobody had ever been able to verify it. But it's real!!
Thanks for the photo, I'll check my Safety & Assistance menu. If it's there I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Although, I kind of wonder if this is on the screen for Tradesman but not other trims because Ram views it as a "work" truck?

Page 217 indicates that it's an option under Safety/Driving Assistance and says this...

When the Safety/Driving Assistance button is selected on the touchscreen, the system displays the options related to the vehicle’s safety settings. These options will differ
depending on the features equipped on the vehicle. The settings may display in list form or within subfolders on the screen. To access a subfolder, select the desired folder; the
available options related to that feature will then display on the screen.
Yes, there's a paragraph at the top of the page that says that. Nothing on the chart on that page about RSRA though. The continued chart on 218 shows the previously posted image that simply says what the parameters are for activation of the alarm.

You’re the only one that has verified that there’s actually a setting for it.
Any chance you can post your backup file here?
If you connect to the body computer, drop down the list that has car configuration change in it, and select backup configuration to file, it will give you the path to the file after it’s complete.
Open that file and copy and paste everything here (it’s just a bunch of lines of numbers and letters that all begin with “62”).
Then I can compare it to @jsalbre backup file, which I already have, and know that he has the feature but not the radio setting for it.
I will try to get a copy this afternoon.

Ignore the fingerprints and dust, but this is all the options I have.

No luck. I've got a bunch of options, but nothing about the RSRA. Guess I have to hope the dealership comes through for me next week. Although it will be nice to point out to them that I know it is definitely an available feature on some trims, so surely they can do it. Now it's just a matter of will they do it.

Here is a copy of the file. Checked my wife's '23 1500 Big Horn with the 12" screen, and no option to disable on hers either.
Build date for my truck is 9/2023, her 1500 is 6/2023.

Thanks!
@jsalbre, I sent you something to try out with your backup file.

Sadly I think it’s a case of one manual for all. My 2022 PW doesn’t have the alerts and doesn’t have the options on it either. I hope someone discovers how to disable. Because I’ve left all kinds of things in my back seat, never once has it been any of my 5 kids or “something valuebale” like my phone. Good grief what have we come to smh

@jsalbre was able to get the setting to show up in his radio by modifying a value in the backup file.
JScan can’t do this, but alfaobd can. There isn’t a setting in alfaobd for it, so right now modifying the backup file is the only way to do it. It won’t be the same value for everyone because there is a group of four settings that the value addresses, so I would need each individual backup file to tell you what to change.

It's because the only trim that has it as an option is the Tradesman. Anything beyond that is out of luck.

The person you replied to has a 2022, and the rear seat reminder alert didn’t come around until model year 2023.
The alert is definitely not limited to the Tradesman trim.
As far as who gets the setting in the radio to turn it off, the only thing I’ve been able to deduce from all of the 2023 configurations I have is that all 12” and 8.4” with navigation radios that I’ve seen do not have the setting, and 8.4” without navigation I’ve seen do have the setting (I haven’t checked into any 5” radio equipped 2023’s).
@jsalbre has a 2023 with the alert, 12” radio, and no setting originally to turn it on/off, and was able to get it configured to show up.

I had my recall done today. They replaced the part, and did two software updates while it was there.

As for the RSRA. It's still turned on.:mad::mad:
When I got to the dealership I mentioned disabling RSRA and the tech said, "yeah, I'll take care of that right now" and jumped in the truck and cycled to the settings menu. Obviously the option isn't there. He then said they'd turn it off with the computer while they ran updates.
When they were done they told me "sorry we couldn't turn off the seat reminder." My invoice shows "after researching and checking there is no way to shut off the feature." The explanation was that it's a "safety feature" and they're not able to turn those off.

This is such a bunch of crap. Why isn't the option on all trims?!?!
I'm not going to dig around in backup files, but have Jscan which apparently can't do it anyway. If Jscan updates the software to include it as an adaptation, I'll shut that thing down immediately.
Until then I guess I'll just get pissed off every time I turn the truck off. The chime is a mild annoyance, but it is a lot more annoying when you know that it CAN be turned off but they won't let you. So now I'm double annoyed every time I turn the truck off.

Correct, everyone (mid '23+) has the alert. The option to turn it off doesn't exist if you have anything but a Tradesman.

I’d assume this is something we could get Alexy to add?

It has noting to do with the tradesman you were told that you clearly did not read what Jimmy said…

My 2024 laramie (build date of 8/23) with 12" has the on/off option under Safety & Driving Assistance. It's the very first item.
My 2024 Limited also has the option, and it does work. There is a silent message on the digital cluster when I start the truck that says something like "reminder, the rear seat alert is disabled" but it's only there for maybe a few seconds and I actually never noticed it until today. When I stop the truck and get out there is no message or sound.

I have a 2023 limited with a build date in feb 2023. I have never heard any alarm or warning telling me to check my back seat. Is it possible that it was never “enabled” on my truck?

It would come up on your dash display after you turn off your truck. Nothing is audible.
