2023 HD Crowdsourced Order Tracking & Waiting Room

That would have to mean that at some point after entering the USA, all the trucks were unloaded from the autoracks for some reason, stored out in the open, and loaded back onto the autoracks. But, where and why?
You can clearly see the truck staging area at the plant, you can clearly see the autorack loading area with the yellow ramps staged for trucks to drive into the rack, and you can clearly see that the autoracks they are transported on are covered and protected.
If the truck stays on the same autorack car from Saltillo all the way to unloading for truck transport to the dealership, where is the central location this could have happened?
I don't think all of the trucks get unloaded into one location in the US. Below is my routing, and below that is routing posted by "Back of me hand". I went to straight to Belvidere, IL from the plant, and "Back of me hand" went from a holding yard in Saltillo to Wentzville, MO. There's a Stellantis assembly plant in Belvidere (although it be be closed at this point). I don't know what's in Wentzville, but maybe both places are final QC checks and that's where the hail damage is being found. as "Back of me hand" was turned around at that point.

I think the damage occurred during transport from the plant.

That’s what I was “leading to” in order to deduce that the damage must have happened in Saltillo. It obviously can’t happen during transport because hail can’t go through an autorack. If yours has hail damage, it didn’t happen while it was on the autorack between Saltillo and Belvedere, and it didn’t happen once it got unloaded in Belvedere, sooo…

Also, my truck has been stuck JB at the tracomex yard since 3/28. I am also included in the informal hold. This debunks the thought that the trucks left and hail happened in the US.

Yes, the hail storm was in Mexico. as your truck never left Mexico. Both your truck and "Back of me hand" went to the Tracomex Saltillo Storage Yard. Looks like you were moved to there on 3/28, and "Back of me hand" on 4/5. You got the hail damage update on 4/13, and "Back of me hand" on 4/12. So hail storm was in Mexico between 4/5 and 4/12. Is it possible that the trucks that go to that yard are the ones sent out for spray-in bed liners? I believe that I was put onto the train directly from the plant staging area sometime between 3/29 and 4/7. So if the storm occurred on or after 4/7 I think I should be OK.

The trucks that go to that yard are getting bed steps, spray in bedliner or side steps put on. I’m pretty sure this is the place people are considering the outside vendor. So if you had no add ons that required a visit there, which yours shows you went straight to the rail yard, and you departed the yard on 4/7, then yes if the storm happened after the 7th your truck should not be included in the damage. The point is that they do not ship from the factory to a location in the US to do a final QC check on all trucks, therefore the damage had to happen at the factory in Mexico. It would be financial ruin if that is indeed how Stellantis decided to run their business as the fees going through customs plus the rail shortages just to ship trucks back across the border to be fixed at the factory.

It happened in Mexico. My truck has been JB since it was build 2/8, and it still sits in Mexico, hail damaged, 82 days and counting
Doesn't it always happen in Mexico? I can not even imagine ordering in Dec and still waiting...you must have ordered from mil supply in the past to have patience like you do. I'd be to the blue ballistic Bush bomb at this point!

I think the original post about transparency is spot on. During this process, I was contacted once by the dealer about how I was enjoying my truck (it hadn't been built at that point). Ram and their dealers should take a step back on transparency and customer care.

Like most, big shout out to @brv10 and others on this site for filling in the blanks.

Trust me, there have been a couple of times I have lost my patience…but then I remember it won’t change anything, and I go about my day. Last Monday is when I finally made the call to MD and found out it was hail damaged. Aaron ask me to give it a week and I am supposed to call him back tomorrow and see where we are.

In the meantime I just got back from having a friend move my 5th wheel out of storage to a camp sight. We list our house tomorrow and are moving in to it until I retire in 5 months (second retirement). This is the longest I have gone without a truck since my first, a 1967 Chevy Step Side (C10 with a 327 that ran like a scalded bandit) that I bought in 1980 when I joined the Army. It sucks, I hate being without one. And trying to move our stuff in to storage using the wife’s SUV, 6 boxes at a time, is truly glorious!!! LOL!!!

I'm in the same boat as everyone else, stuck in KZ for 5 or so weeks now. My dealer told me the delay was waiting on rail cars but the only status I have on the screenshot he sent me is the "INGATE / REBAY AT FACILITY" back in March listed as the last event. Does anybody know what exactly that means? I sold my half ton last month but held on to my '17 3500 for the time being and at this point I'm glad I did so I'll have something to tow the 5er this summer.

Understood....just packed my Riverstone yesterday...generator getts heavier each and every time....was hoping to take the new truck....so close, but not in time.

Have fun...nothing like retirement! See ya out on the road someday!

Your saga kind of reminds me when I ordered security lights at Bagram....never been so ticked at the supply chain...finally got them through the Air Force almost a year later

Thought I'd check back in and see how things are going for you guys. I stopped checking the forums around page 100 of this thread when my truck went to KZ on 2/6. 3 months later I'm still at KZ. @brv10 would you be able to check in on PG501437 and see if there is something holding it up, or I'm just terribly unlucky at catching a train ride out of Mexico. I've checked in with MD monthly and they just say its waiting for shipping.

Scroll back and read the hail damage posts if you have not already.

Well gentlemen, I cheated.

My Laramie has been stuck in Mexico, just like many others, since March 2nd.

I couldn’t wait any longer. I stumbled across this gem by accident one evening. Made the deal over the phone the next morning and drove 450 miles to Fresno to pick it up.

My very first brand new vehicle ever. 2023 2500 Megacab Limited.

So glad I went this route instead. Everything about this truck is over the top!IMG_3245.jpeg

Could quite possible be involved in that, last chat with the dealer was Apr 10th. If the damage time frame was around the 12th I for sure could be part of that.

That is a lovely truck! Looks like you have the Cummins there. I am so eager to hear that diesel rumble in my driveway. Hope you enjoy that!

The hail damage definitely occurred in Mexico. My dealer confirmed it with someone at Chrysler. The screenshot of my truck's status updates lists Missouri, but that does not mean the truck was actually there. That is just the final rail destination. I was wrong previously and my truck did not ship out and get returned to Mexico. My truck was completed on 4/5 and that included the bed liner and bed step. It was then parked on 4/5 at the storage/transfer yard to await a rail car when it was caught in the hail storm and potentially damaged. On 4/12 it was updated to have a hold for hail damage. The storm occurred sometime between mid-day 4/5 and 4/12.

Dealer returned my call and sent me photo of tracker. Told him I may just order a 2024 if not here by July.
What is service event paper hanging?
Going on two months since built no proof I’m affected by hail storm.

Glad this forum helps keep us all updated.
