Just wondering if anyone has found a rolling or folding soft tonneau cover works better. Any particular ones you've been happy with please share.

Thanks

My last tonneau was an above the rail folding, had some issues with strong cross winds. Also, when folded up, blocked the view inside the bed. I switched to the roll-up with mounted rails. holds up to the wind and tucks out of the way of view.

I have a rolling and i love it. Have a tool box that mounts underneath the cover as well so its hidden from prying eyes.

I have a TruXedo Deuce 2 rollup cover. It not only rolls up, but has the ability to be folded open from the front of the bed to access stuff like a tool box or cargo that may slid forward. I had this on my 2016 and moved it to my 2020 when I bought it last month. Wasn't about to give them that with my trade in.

I have a Truxedo Lo Pro, and I really like it. I can easily get to my toolbox when rolled up. It looks good too.

Last one was a Truxedo LoPro and it was definitely a quality product. Highly recommended.
This time around, I went with Truxedo's Sentry CT. I liked the idea of a more rigid cover, while I liked the rolling feature of a soft tonneau when you don't need a cover. Also, it will clear the camera for 5th wheel attachment unlike a folding panels type tonneau.
We'll see if I like it more than the LoPro when I get the new truck.

Wish I saw those when I was shopping! best of both worlds!

I have a Tyger tri-fold cover, I originally bought for my 1500 that I repurposed on my 2500. I actually love it. I got an awesome deal on it brand new on Mercari, funnily enough. I had originally intended to buy it on Amazon, ended up paying $110 brand new delivered intended to replace it with something better, but ended up really liking it.

I just recently bought a Bakflip Revolver X4. I didn't have many options as I have the rambox. So far so good. I liked the idea of having a roll-up with a bit more security. If Peragon made covers that worked with the rambox, I would have went that route.

Does anyone have toolbox that rests on the bed rails and has a cover? I have a Kobalt toolbox, but wanted to get a cover for road trips. I didn't see many options out there, or I am looking in the wrong place. Thanks!

If you have a long bed truck, maybe using a short bed cover with a tool box up front might be the ticket.

I have the same cover, I like it. I use the front access quite a bit. The down side is having to press down at the front latch pins on both sides to get mine fully seated down. Small price to pay for the convenience of front access in my opinion.

I have a Rugged Cover Tri-Flip bed cover on my current Duramax 8 ft bed. I love it, about 95% or higher keeps the rain out - leaks at the tailgate and stake holes. It takes 10 min to take off and put back on. Snow, you need to take it off for 2 reasons, need the weight in the truck, and 2 weight of the snow may ruin the top.
If I can afford a new bus, I will buy the same brand again(bed cover). Never had any problems in the 10 or so years, truck lives outside, so not ideal conditions.
I can't afford the other brands but, my grandfather taught me a most valuable lesson, buy the best tool you can afford, spend more to get a quality tool. So far this tool has served me well, in the truck and the bed cover. Your mileage may vary. My humble penny's worth as I can't afford the other penny.

Wanting a new truck aka a Ram, but I don't have the money right now. I have excellent credit, so I could get a loan easily, but the payments are a bit spendy, so I live vicariously through your stories here. Maybe dollars from heaven will drop in the future?

Respectfully,

If you are having a problem with the front end closing, could be an alignment issue with the pins to the latches. But yes, small price to pay for the convenience.

I have an Extang Revoluiton . What I like about it is it is very flat and no VELCRO !!

Check this one from Access out:

I haven't used that specific model, but I've had the Access Lorado on multiple trucks, they make a quality product.

First to your other post - they pay for plane tickets to fly in customers? I wasn't aware of that! One way tickets can be costly if you're less than three weeks out from a trip, and I would think they'd want you out as soon as possible (ie: not make a deal and buy a discounted ticket for the deal to close in three weeks!)

Second, how do they handle tax, title and license for out of state? Do they just not charge you and let you deal with your local DMV if you want, or do you pay your local DMV rate but they handle all the paperwork? It's an important little point because in the latter situation, you can include those costs in financing just as if you bought local, but in the former, you need to have that cash (tax is substantial) on hand when you go to your local DMV. Which means you're financing less, but also putting less money down most likely.

Third and finally, I've read elsewhere on the interwebz that Dennis Dillon's prices are only good if you use Chrysler Financing, if you have your own, all pricing is off. Is that your experience? Are people just paying higher interest rates in order to get these great purchase prices? (Nothing stopping anybody from doing the deal and immediately refinancing at a lower rate, but just one more PITA.)

Thanks. And may I ask, what is your need for a 3500 over a 2500? Just curious about use case.

I think you'll like it... I had trifolds before and went with the Sentry CT this time, I've had it on for a year and it works really well for me, specifically, the fifthwheel situation you mention is nice.

For the OP, my opinion is... if you need to get in your bed very frequently, I'd go trifold, it's going to be quicker to get in and out. If you just need to get near the tailgate and/or don't need to get back there super frequently, go rolling. my dad just bought a new 1500. He works out of his truck and is in there non-stop, I have told him not to go with the cover like I have.
