I've been running Dodge trucks for the last ten years and finally have my Power Wagon!

My question: Has anyone added strobe lights to their trucks? I use mine to respond to fire calls and need to install them in my grille but don't know what to use to secure them.

I plan on hooking up some TIR lights as well, and I'm not sure where I will be mounting them yet either, Maybe behind the front grill. I just don't want them to be seen until I turn them on.

If you get your's mounted first, Please post some pictures and I will do the same.

If your truck came with the VSIM Module, Sales Code "XXS", all you have to do is hook up a couple of wires and you will Get Wig Wag Lights.

Check out the following Video on earlier model Ram's :

I do not have XXS, but I was looking to use my controller anyways. My last Ram had the lights on the outside of the grille and I'll likely do that again. I like the 180* lights so recessing them into the grille would defeat that.

I was thinking of mounting 4 TIR light behind the grill, one near each corner and 2 thin TIR's with black bezel, one each on the same plastic piece piece by the Fog lights. That way they give me more side notification.

I just started to doing some prep work to install my Emergency Lighting for my rear window setup. I have to move some Oversize Construction and Farm Equipment between different properties around my area. I am working on the Back window setup first and later moving to the front of the truck (Slow Process). I just ordered 8 Low Profile Grille and Surface Mount LED's (Amber) and an OPT7 48" Redline Triple LED Tailgate Light Bar for the top of the inside of my back window. They should arrive by the end of next week.

Here are a few Pics of the inside of the back window setup. I am planning on using .25 inch plywood to make the unit out of. Keep in mind, once the lighting arrives I will be cutting out most of this unit leaving an inch or two across the top above the head rests for the OPT7 unit and leaving the area between the rear headrest and the side of the truck for the Surface Mount LED's. All the middle of this unit you will see in the pictures below will be removed for visibility to the rear after I decide exactly where I want to mount the lights. Once finished, it will be covered with Speaker Box covering to make it look better. This is a rough idea and may change before I get to the finished product.

Like I said, I am still in the rough planning stages and will be posting more later in case you want to copy some of my ideas.

Also, here is a link to some Reverse LED"s I installed a little while back for backing up in dark places. The one on top of the license plate is un-godly bright and pricey.

Wow. Thanks for the input. I ended up getting some painted flat steel that I'll put behind each light. I'll try and post some pictures of the progress for anyone looking to do the same.

Thanks, I would like to see how yours turned out.

I also use mine for fire calls. Anyone have wiring diagrams for the headlights, tails, and horn ring?

If you have yours finished yet, could you post some pictures ?
