Oh yeah that young lay was an awesome help. She told me my options and I told her if she can get it expedited then we will wait for another as I do like the look , shape, and covering. So well see. I didn't like that cheap pop riveted hinge for the top cover, but what are you gonna do, nothing is perfect anymore, you just got to pick what's most important to you, and for me that's a below rail covered in lining to match my bedugh, that sucks Rich. glad they're making it right though.
So, to know suprise, we drove 90 miles round trip to home depot to pu my Lund tool box to find it damaged. The top lid where it hinges , the hinge that pop rivets into lid was completely ripped off, wich in turn caused the whole lid to shift forward so that the the locking bolts inside the lid that lock to the front open/ close handles , rubbed the finish off the front. Needlessly to say I didn't accept. Hd was super helpful to get another one ordered and expedited asap and should be here next weak. Kudos to the young lady that helped us out.
Well I thought about that when she asked me if I wanted it delivered for no extra charge, but to be honest, I'd rather deny it at the store and get everything all cleared up there, much easier to deal with at the store. The worst part is I have to drive the 90 miles round trip In a 85k truck that I love.Sorry to hear that, may be you can get them to deliver the replacement one to you after they do a thorough inspection.
I also found a new problem that I haven't seen mentioned here yet. When you are parked with the engine and accessory is OFF, The HORN WONT WORK! ! !
100% a safety issue. Makes no sense that you can log onto your apps on your tablet or phone from your house or store and start, stop, and sound your horn, but of your in it and see that somebody is going to hit you, you can't do anything but yell Hey you mother ×*<×=%.I had the Dead Pedal twice today for the first time, it took several seconds after I pressed the pedal for it to move and it took off very slow with my foot all the way to the floor.
I also found a new problem that I haven't seen mentioned here yet. When you are parked with the engine and accessory is OFF, The HORN WONT WORK! ! ! I almost got hit because I couldn't blow the horn to warn the other vehicle..... I was parked in a spot in a shopping center and had to start the engine for it to blow. THAT Is UnSafe ! ! ! ! ! May be Mark @RamCares can help out. There has to be a fix for this as my Jeep JKU and my SRT Challenger do the same thing. Dealer told me a couple of years ago that they couldn't change that in the computers, It was Factory Set. ? ? ?
Check yours out, it's probably the same way.

Sorry to ram care and 1 fast hemi for the delay, I've been out enjoying my new truck on a beautiful day. Finally hit 501 miles for proper break in. So ok, i just tried the horn issue and this is not a problem on my truck. I went out to truck with key in pocket, climbed in and hit the horn and it worked. So next test, I closed the door w/ key in pocket and waited for all dash lights to go off and an extra few minutes totaling 5 minutes in all. I then tried the horn and it still worked. In fast hemi situation were your sitting in the vehicle for longer than 5 minutes I can not answer to that scenario but at this point, mine worked as designed.Hi @1FastHemi - This is certainly concerning to hear on our end. With that, I kindly recommend scheduling a follow up with your dealer service center so that they can look into this for you. If you are willing to do so, please follow up with me via PM so I can have it documented and escalate a case on your behalf!
@Rich - Is your truck the same as @1FastHemi's regarding the horn? Or are you able to use it when your truck is off? Please let us know, as we would like to ensure we have everybody who is experiencing this documented!

Ps: I do have to also add to the dead peddle issue. This is an issue I've had hit and miss so i can not rely on my vehicle is going to go when i accelerate. AT THIS POINT. This is very frustrating when there are devices out there that can correct this issue, but i will not do anything that could cause a discrepancy on my warranty. Hope this helped
Maybe the SOS button will make the horn work.I hope 1fasthemi hasn't gone off the road and hit something, woken up from being knocked unconscious, and can't blow his horn to summon help.

Hahaha, you just won't let that one go will yah. At this current juncture, I believe I'm going to pass on the chrome hooks with the sport pkg. I really wish some folks with the all painted (sport) front end that have swapped out the black for the chrome hooks would post some pics, I'd love to see the look. The tinfoil just don't do it for me. Hopefully towards the end of this coming up wk , my second tool box will show up undamaged and my first bak flip cover arrives as they have really been backed up on the 8ft mx4. I do have a plan for my tool box so that i don't have to screw it to the floor. Once i get the back flip set on, I can then fine tune the exact location of my tool box between the tonnue cross pieces at 8" and 32". So my box will more than likely set the 8" from the front of the bed. Then what I will basically do is run a 2x4 behind the tool box the full length of the bed with short pieces behind to keep it proper distance away from head board. Then along the 20" sides of tool box, 2x4 with a short piece to the bed wall. This will all keep it away from head board and centered in truck. Before I screw the pieces together I will by some cheap rhino lining stuff from Wal-Mart to cover the 2x4 to better match and blend the bed and box and to not stand out as a home built structure. I will screw the tool box to the 2x4s and with several hundred pounds of tools, i think it will stay. Once i get my new S.D tags ill then put my rsm plate covers on. So here's a good laugh at some ole garbage man, farm boy blue prints. This will be the laugh of the day.You guys are too funny, ran off the road can’t blow his horn to summon help, fell asleep at the keyboard.... this thread is always a fun one. I’m just catching up to see where Rich is with accessorizing. Rich I saw the pics of your damaged tool box, sorry to see that. It’s tough to get something to work out right on the first try it seems. Hopefully the replacement version will be without issue.
What did you decide on those chrome tow hooks?

Haha, I appreciate it. The other part of the equation that the drawing dont show is: from the bed floor to the top of rail is 20", my tool box sits 19" tall and the tonnue cover comes down into bed around 3/4". All that with the thickness of the liner in the bed and on the tool box is going to make it extremely close. That's why ill probably have to strategically position the tool box to go between the tonnue cover Seam/ rails for extra clearance. Your probably the only one who will give me kudos on my color coded picture, and I'll take the compliment, and yet I'm prepared for the belly laughs. That's ok guys, I can take it.Holy smokes...that’s some planning right there!! I’m impressed, no matter what you call that blueprint it shows a whole lot of thought went into the planning and engineering to get it right. You have demonstrated a sophisticated level of forethought, deliberation and premeditation - way to go. No flying by the seat of your pants on that one. I normally get about halfway through something with my hand trapped underneath and think man I should‘ve thought this through a little better BEFORE I started this project.
I’m anxious to see the next episode of how the bed of your truck turns out. This is as good as watching Ozark.
