2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Since interest rates and trade-in values are volatile I understood they were not valid reasons for a refund at the dealership I ordered my truck thru.

I would wait until its delivered to back out, that way any last minute rate promotions may still apply. I got 0% for 36 months and my dad got 1.9% for 48 months, both in August. 2.9% for 60 months was also an option.
That is a fair point. I imagine by Nov, or Dec. RAM is going to have to do something to offset lending rates.

Dealer just said my truck is in F status - paint. Anyone have best guess how long it takes after that? TIA

yeah but without a deposit you dont have a contract either. they can sell it at any time to anyone.
Valid point. He's a longtime friend of mine and I have purchased several trucks from him so I trust him. They only thing we put in writing is the sale price and the actual order. Understandably he wouldn't make any promises as to interest rates, trade in values, ect.

So, I have owned a 2020 Laramie Mega Cab 2500 6.7 and really liked it but realized diesel + 2500 = no payload. Couldn't find a Ram 3500 I liked so I traded it on a 3500 Chevy SRW High Country. Beginning of this year I sold the High Country as I was offered a stupid amount for it. June came around and I missed an HD truck. Couldn't find a Ram 3500 SRW that I halfway liked so I decided to order one (wanted Longhorn or maybe Limited but at the time I ordered I couldn't order either trim in a SRW 3500. Only Laramie and lower trim levels. IDK why.) Ordered it and went truck-less for another couple months until I gave in and bought a 2022 Ford F350 SRW 7.3L gas Tremor in September. Always been a diesel HD truck guy but decided to try the 7.3 and it's been a great motor and the Ford's are actually a good truck, to my surprise. Something very cool about a big-block pushrod, especially when such a thing is a dying breed. I do a lot of short commuting and the most I haul is my GT500 to track days so the gasser is fine for that.

Anyhow, two days ago I was in bed and for some reason remembered I had ordered a truck! Checked the order tracker and it was, to my surprise, built September 28th and awaiting shipment! I have never had a truck I was 100% happy with as I have always been too impatient to order one and just bought what was on the lot. If my fiancé were here she'd roll her eyes because of the amount of times I've said this but, this 3500 really is a long term truck for me because I ordered exactly what I wanted.

The dilemma: I really like the F350 Tremor 7.3 gas and the Lariat Ultimate package has all the features I want. The Tremors come with 4.30 gears which make driving around town very fun. It's a quick truck all things considered. It was $73K and with price protection my 3500 is $93,445 vs the $95,550 window sticker. While a diesel isn't great for short commutes and jumping around town, it is nice to know I will have all the capacity & payload I'll ever need (won't ever go DRW route.) You 6.7 HO guys, is it really the bees knees? I know MPG is worse but I don't pay any attention to MPG given I have never expected good MPG from an HD truck. What do you guys think? You're all obviously biased to Ram but, is the truck and all the options I chose (looking back, I think I got a little carried away) really worth $93K?? This truck would be my dream truck but I have a great truck that I like and it was $20K less. Lastly, I haven't tracked the 4.5 gen in a while. All I really know is the CP3 is back for 21 & 22 and the AISIN is apparently awesome but not great for short distance commutes as it can be a little wonky. Appreciate everyone's' input!!! Also, approx. how long does it take to get to the dealership (in Arkansas) from the factory?

Thanks! Guess I need to find out how to know it's on a rail car and how to find that rail car's number.

Just got an e-mail from my dealer and he stated that my truck was still scheduled to ship out on the 16th. Ram tracker still doesn’t show anything past scheduled, everything else is still TBD. So weird.

Exactly. Also, dealer said "sold" orders get priority at the factory so a refundable deposit was fine with me. Not sure how accurate that is. Wouldn't guarantee trade in value or interest rate which was understandable.

They also said me backing out only gives them a vehicle to sell for more than we agreed to, lol.

My .02 - I'd reorder a 2023 Limited or Longhorn as that was your original intent.

@Cpherget2 I've been driving AISIN's for 4 years now and never had a "wonky" experience. It's a medium duty transmission and it works like one, but also drives very nicely.

Interesting. Given all the options I selected, the only thing I'd gain is some interior stitching/different color and different exterior badging, right? Aren't the 2023 MSRPs significantly higher?

You would also lose the Night package... so how much do you prefer black accents or chrome accents.

Several things kept me out of a Longhorn/Limited. Night, NAV (don't want it), and seating for 6.
