2020 ordering?

question on that panoramic sun roof, wich I love btw. Isnt the reason why we can't get on the HD is because it compromises body strength wich equates to lbs hauling. Really an truly the only thing I would change about my ram coming besides being able to get panoramic sunroof would be for that dang aux camera to stay on. I've drove commercial for decades an unfortunately I've become reliant on that camera in my old age. Makes me wonder how I ever drive with out it

Not so much that but the fact that the 4th gen cab (which is what we get on HDs) was never made for a pano sun roof. If someone just cut one in, it would absolutely reduce strength and rigidity. Pano sun roofs have to be designed for from day one. When the 5th gen cabs hit the HDs they'll have pano sun roofs.

Ultimate hype up dudes. I'll FaceTime y'all in during negotiations (jk haha).

Your post in another thread is what concerned me. I don't need to buy and if they pull this card I won't be. Let em sit a 60k+ truck on the lot.

OA
I would be concerned too, but let's hope it goes well and you get your new one. You'd think they'd be eager to get a deal done, but in my case they were not.

I was just getting fuel at the gas station and a guy pulled up in a 2020 Laramie Longhorn dually, looked like a leveling kit, 22” American force rims, Ridge grappler tires, custom exhaust, tinted windows, Limited style grille....totally bad ass. I realized how nice these trucks are and how lucky I am to have a the nicest looking truck on the market today!

Amen to that brother. My dealer just sent me some pics with my hitch in an the new line x steps on. Then he told me my truck now has 30 miles on it. I guess small price to pay for free side steps wich saved me 700 an a 50 gal tank of free fuel that who nose how much would of cost based on were your at. I figure about $ 800 bucks saved is worth the 30 miles. :p :p :p

Because having to reach over and punch a button (at least one) is less distracting than just a glance at the screen.

<sarcasm> <rolls eyes>

There thinking is so dumb any bas ackwards. Let's see it's more safe to have somebody hauling 30+ k to have to play etch a sketch than to just glance over. Duhhhh. But hey, don't text an drive. :mad::mad::mad:

So I have a ? For everyone to breakdown. My 20 3500 drw crew HD HO is listed as medium/heavy duty by the specs when you look up by vin. Yes I know the badge sais hd, but i would think there would be a class breakdown by capabilities. Can someone post what equates to light, medium, heavy duty an all those listed between like our medium/ heavy models.

AFAIK, it's by GVWR.

So that's what i had assumed. So can we also assume that
Class1= light duty ? 1500
class2= medium duty ? 2500
class 3= heavy duty ? 3500
So why are we listed as medium/ heavy ?
Nice graph btw

It's a long story as to why I know this but that chart doesn't tell the whole story.

Class 1 would be trucks more like the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/Canyon, Frontier, etc.
Class 2 is actually subdivided between some 1500s/150s and some 2500s/250s (there's a class 2a and 2b depending on which scale you're going off of)
Class 3 through 6 are all considered medium duty
6+ is heavy.

There's a reason our HD tires have a LT designation. Based on your previous posts you seem to have had experience with Class 6 and above and you know why those are truly considered Heavy Duty. With the big 3 in their capability pissing contest, every new model pushes the limits or jumps classes these days.

Correct, so this would explain a little more as to why its listed as medium/ heavy on the vin pull ups but the true hds are the commercial vehicles an the hd branding is somewhat just a sales gimmick.

Yes, marketing. It's heavy duty for a light duty truck, I guess;)

What dealer in Arkansas did you deal with?

At this point i would rather not say an hope nobody is offended. At least until everything has been signed sealed an delivered, wich hopefully will be tomorrow. I am judging by all the extras I'm getting at no cost they might want to hold me to some sort of confidentiality agreement. When it's done, if I can say, I surely will. I can definitely see both sides of it though. A great deal like mine would bring in more buisness , then on the other hand, they have shown there hand on how much there willing to comprimise an dont want that getting pushed further with future buyers

I get it.On the same note, though, I have told dealers to not insult me saying they are losing money, if so, they wouldn’t be in business long. I love car dealers about as much as getting a colonoscopy. I usually tell them I understand they need to make money.....just doesn’t need to be all off me. They still made money off you, at least once you sign and get the keys.
