CP4 recall thread (merged threads) - Y78 Jan 2022 recall campaign - Parts Available May 10 for 2020 trucks only

Brought my 2020 home from the dealer tonight with the new pump, couldn't tell any difference in driving manners from the trip in, will know for sure when I hook it to my 5er. I was the second one having the recall done at this dealer and I have the dual alts, adaptive steering - it took a bit longer to do according to the service manager.

Just received my notice that parts are available, just need to call dealer and order parts to schedule a repair…
I called the dealer (over an hour away) and was told that I needed to bring my truck in for a 2hr evaluation and only then would they order the parts. Supposedly Ram's requirement. My last experience a 2hr repair took 5 hours (replacing the coolant resoirvoir). Who's paying for my loss of a days work? Talk about being jerked around. Anybody else get this song and dance?

My dealer looked it up and ordered the parts over the phone, week later they showed and it was done three days later. No bs or driving to verify anything, though it wouldn't have mattered as they are ten minutes away.

Your dealer needs to re-educate their service people. It's a 5 minute inspection to verify the Engine Serial Number (ESN) and ensure the truck is running, the pump isn't leaking or making unusual sounds. They are not required to remove the FQS to inspect the screen otherwise.

That said, if you have the wiper recall, it may take them another 5 minutes to do that.

As to the inconvenience, that's the price you pay to paly in the consumer market. Be thankful RAM and Cummins stepped up and are doing the right thing with this recall.

Perhaps you just need a snickers.

How's does any of that matter. If it's leaking me driving 1 extra hour to see them is detrimental. If it is noisy getting parts ordered and scheduled is "sooner the better". They have all the info on my truck. You eat the Snickers.

I was able to give them my ESN over the phone. That being said, my truck was supposed to be in getting the new pump installed today but i think they gave the pump to someone else. Mine has been rescheduled for the 31st.

You seem strangely bitter and angry and act like the world owes you something. Are you still pissed off your dealer charged you to unf**ck the BCM you messed up?

The world owes you absolutely nothing.

My dealer just said still no parts available for my 2019 ... anybody with a 2019 hear different? Was anxious to get this done before I load up my truck camper and take off, but seems I should just wait till I'm at a relatives sometime in October ..

No parts for my 2019 in Houston, TX.
