Without blind spot monitoring, OEM regular mirrors are an accident waiting to happen. With blind spot monitoring, no problem. The trailer mirrors do address the blind spot issue without blind spot monitoring and so I find them much better. I notice on the pic above the "fix" someone did but still that little mirror in the corner is NOT a good solution.Hey Guys, I just got a new 2022 2500 Big Horn and due to the supply chain snafu mine doesn't have the Blind Spot Monitoring sensors.
I want to learn if someone else is experiencing the frustration with the passenger side mirror which is the worst ever. I can't see a car next to me if I want to change lanes to the right. I've almost hit a car the other day because I couldn't see the car since it was in my blind spot.
I drove yesterday a coworker's Ram 1500 Rebel GT without the towing mirrors and the difference is night and day how easy is to drive with those mirrors.
Your input or information how you solved annoyance is greatly appreciated.
I did just fine before the nannies for 50 years. But, and in particular gen 4 with its massive pillars and height made them the very worst vehicles I ever had from a blind spot standpoint. Even looking over your shoulder. "Mirrors ARE your blind spot monitoring?" Then WHY did some one make up the term, "blind spot?" Did it just arise out of nothing for no reason? A little less snark please... And I have NO problem with a little electronic assist, just don't become totally dependent on them... I still look camera's, mirrors or monitors but do appreciate the little light giving me a heads up.Mirrors ARE your blind spot monitoring. You can see every inch of that truck in my “blind spot” in my mirror.
How did you people drive before electronic nannies were holding your hand?
Mirrors don’t cause accidents. They’re inanimate objects.Without blind spot monitoring, OEM regular mirrors are an accident waiting to happen.
Idiot lights. That’s all they are.Mirrors ARE your blind spot monitoring. You can see every inch of that truck in my “blind spot” in my mirror.

There’s no such thing as an accident. Just careless people. Look up the definition for accident. Created in the 13th century, happen to is the definition.Mirrors don’t cause accidents. They’re inanimate objects.
Bad drivers cause accidents.
Just like our education system now our vehicles are dumbing us down. There was another thread where someone was having issue with bsm not being 100%.
I am kinda with rockcrawler here, BSM is a welcome enhancement to the mirrors but should not replace them.
Truth. The quicker people start to rely on these things, the quicker they’ll become standard features.Idiot lights. That’s all they are.
There is no need for BSM in these trucks the mirrors are fine, the regular mirrors like rockcrawlerdude has worked great for me when i had my 11 1500 never needed anything to tell me where a car is as i had them adjusted great, perhaps its a fact that i am 6’2” i can see more than someone who is an umpalumpa, maybe thats where the mirrors become an issue
fix for these that will still fold?I have the same ones i tend to keep them flipped up as i tow almost every second day, i have no issue seeing everything i need to see with them in either orientationI think maybe my mirror isn't the one you have..I am 6'1"and there is no adjusting it to where any of my truck can be seen while the lane to the right is in decent view..let alone being able to see parking lot lines and that lane without maneuvering around in the seat..mine are these on a 2019 PW.
Has anybody figured a replacement/ View attachment 37243fix for these that will still fold?
I will try harder at that...I have only flipped them up once, the first time I towed. I didn't like them much but didn't spend much time adjusting, just put them back down.I have the same ones i tend to keep them flipped up as i tow almost every second day, i have no issue seeing everything i need to see with them in either orientation
Are you familiar with the Dan Ryan at 5 PM on any given week day? And that is why no vehicle in Chicago two years old or older is pristine...Just go old school.
Turn on blinker.
Count to 5.
Start moving over.
With a big truck coming at them, they will move.
Have had to do that in the past when driving a big bobtail box truck.
