2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I'm pretty sure Deb has that granite 2500 that was posted a couple of days ago
Correct. I almost ordered a 3500 with the HO for the better transmission but my husband thought it was overkill for my needs right now. Mine has the 3.73. I was impressed with the mileage being it had 23 miles on it when I took delivery.

what transmission do you have> I have the 4.10 and only got 14mpg on the 200 mile drive home.
3.73 gears . I varied RPM's on that drive home as stated for the "breaking period ", but didn't baby it. I tried hard to stay away from the semi's.

Any good diesel prices you remember along the 10 Eastbound? I’ve got my Escapees card, and I waited too long to sign up for TDS to use on this trip. I’ve seen some deals in the $4.60s around Lafayette, need to look more around Tallahassee, but if you have any recommendations I’m all ears.

Prices were cheaper outside Florida. I paid 5.24 in North Florida and 4.99 in Louisiana.

How long will dealers typically “hold” a custom order on the lot?

Power Wagon is 80 miles away and waiting on a truck, but my Jeep (trade-in) is still in the shop with no ETA (“maybe Monday”).

Starting to worry the stars won’t align.

I should be in that morning, probably make the dealership around lunch time.

Probably head out towards Jax that afternoon and look for a room off the 10. I wanted something secure, so I checked the Navy Lodge, but it is sold out at Pensacola and Panama City. The only Space-A (Gateway and Air Force Inns) I could get was at Eglin for $130 and the A/C is out in the bldg currently. I may just cancel that and try Gulfport.

Retired Air Force here, have the Space A lodging room rates actually risen to $130 per night?

Yes, at Eglin I was quoted $130-172 a night. They also told me the A/C was currently out in the bldg and might be back on.

I just cancelled that and got a room at the Hard Rock Biloxi.

I ordered almost the same truck as you.. almost went with a 3500 so. But I could not find one to test drive on a lot around here.. I didn't want to sacrifice ride quality and really didn't need the extra payload. . My trucks an everyday driver that also does long trips..

As mine is also. I do have to say the seats in my Titan XD were more plush than the Ram. Other than that this truck is perfect for my needs.
Any news on your build?

The seats are one of the things I'm most pleased with in the new truck. I've done three 9 hour drives in it and they were super comfy. Much better than the seats in our 2016 Lexus RX.

I remember when I first came in the AF in the mid 80s. A room at the AF Inn would run around $8 a night . . .

‘00-‘22: and during that time, I remember the Navy Gateway Inns being $20-$30. We stayed at an AF Inn in Homestead for just over $110 a night back in ‘18. These places aren’t as nice as hotel rooms, just remodeled barracks, yet they still feel like the barracks.

I hated those 3.42's when used with 20 inch wheels. It was pretty much a neutered truck.
I don't remember which rear-end I had with my '02 Hemi, but that damn thing did NOT like the rolling hills of I-5 in SoCal. I dropped 4.54s in it and it turned into a monster!
