What made you pick THAT model when you ordered your truck?

2022 Laramie Level B, HO, CC, LB, 4x4

Level B - I wanted the deployable side steps. They weren't available with Level A. I didn't have any desire to have the rear heated seats, but they were part of the package

HO - The new 5th wheel is 16,500 lbs dry / empty. Tow charts indicated I needed the HO

CC - I wanted the 50 gallon tank, which requires the long bed, and Mega is not available with the long bed.

LB - see CC above

4x4 - just cause, lol. Occasionally it snows / ices here (Dallas, TX area). There are hills both directions from our driveway, and we have been stuck at the house before.

3500 Laramie Megacab hemi ordered. Megacab for room for kids. Laramie level b for auto steps for the wife. “Leather” for easier to wipe up kids messes. And was able to get tow group and still keep the 8.4” screen. I prefer my HVAC controls to be on buttons instead of through the screen. Would have been cheaper to go LL but then tow tech automatically bumps the screen to 12” which I didn’t want.

Have Ram 2500 Megacab Cummins Limited on order. Came from 2019 Ram 2500 Laramie Crew. Loved the 19, but wanted a true back seat vs the cutout middle of the backseat. Ended up with Limited because as I built a laramie with a lot of options it wasn't much more to just jump to Limited. I was going to go with a 3500 but was just worried about ride quality. We will tow horses and a boat but nothing SUPER heavy, so 2500 will work and "should" ride better.

2021 Laramie, Cummins HO, Mega Cab, Black, Night Edition. Chose this setup because I love how the LED light bars on the headlights look. The Limited Longhorn and Limited do not look as appealing in my opinion. The two light bars are just dead sexy on the Laramie.

Bench seat and factory power step were my main reasons for picking laramie. Bighorn was just missing a few things. The kids picked out the color.

x2. I needed the bench so Laramie was the highest trim I could get with that option.

Most of your HVAC on the 12" screen can be/is controlled with buttons.

The 12" screen is the one of the best things on the new Ram trucks. All of the other manufacturers are following suit. It is amazing.

Like many here, the model/trim picked me:

2500 to tow our Travel Trailer. HEMI 8-Speed all the way.
Mega Cab for dogs and 10 grand kids (ah yeah, mucho crazy at times)
To get certain options with the Laramie, I would have had to get the Harmon 17 speakers. My ears can do without that, thank you.
LL did not offer the NE and also was tied-in to options like the Laramie, but that Cattle/Tan is a very nice interior
Limited offered standard features I wanted without having to order the adaptive techs. I am old enough to remember driving a truck WITHOUT power anything; just happy to have PW, PS and PB!

Number 1 reason: Because it is a great looking truck.

OK so two things that I need deciphered 99. What is NE and I see what trim did you end up getting? Limited? Lastly yes, I’m also old enough to remember trucks equipped with nothing. I had a 58 Apache that had no power anything with a six cylinder and 3 on the tree.

2022 Tradesman 3500 CC FWD SB SO (all the trailering options)

Tradesman because we really like the vinyl seats and no carpet. The dog and I are both a mess. Never could keep the cloth seats or carpet clean in my last truck and I am not a leather seat guy.

3500 to keep enough payload with the 6.7 engine. I pull a 5th wheel camper.

CC because I (shockingly) know more than one person who will ride with me.

FWD...It's a truck.

SB is plenty, and much easier to park and get into a drive-thru

SO should also be plenty. I pondered over the HO/aisin, but for a mostly daily driver I think the SO will be best $$ long-term.

We included all the towing options. With the camper, we have various monitors all over the dash. It will be nice to clean that up.

I am one day into The Wait!

Wondering what an NE is also. But his signature says he ordered a Limited on 3/28. It also specifies it is a SRW 2500. I didn't think there was a dually option for the 2500?

Yes, it is a Night Edition. Limited. I did briefly look at building a 3500 dual or single. Must of stuck in my head. I don't think you can build a 2500 Dually. If you can, I am sure someone will point it out and by no means am I a Ram expert. First one.

Used to trade trucks every 2-3 years…kids came along and had an ’03 SLT dually for 13 years…best truck I’ll probably ever own. Sold it and bought a 2016 tradesman dually, outside of the refinements on the old SLT, the tradesman had every creature comfort I thought I needed. Turned out it didn’t have the radio controls on the steering wheel (yes- contemplated several times replacing it)…and wasn’t crazy about the door panels and smaller radio screen (backup camera was almost useless)

Bought a Bighorn relatively well optioned out…buckets, level C, premium headlights/alpine, etc..no towing tech

Will say that we also have a 2021 tradesman 2500…prefer the HVAC controls on it vs the controls on the bighorn. Although the HVAC can be controlled both digitally and with knobs on the BH, the knobs on the BH are the type that can turn continuously vs stopping at the end of the range of the fan/temp…and the selector knob for the dash/feet/defrost is a guessing game…literally have to look at the screen to tell what you are selecting with the knob. Finding it easier to use the on screen selections vs using the knobs. In a perfect world, I know it’s not as “refined” but I’d prefer the tradesman knob functionality over how the BH knobs function

Time will tell, but I may have been fine and dandy with another tradesman and saved some $$$...actually I would have been since I "didn't know what I'd be missing"...guess if I ever get to the point of wanting to step down a trim I should be able to get out from under this one fairly easy

My selection came with a little different twist. Since I prefer a flatbed truck for 5th wheel towing, I shopped both a standard 4dr 3500 long bed truck and a chassis cab version. I would have done the regular pickup deal and removed the bed if there were enough reasons to go that route but the chassis cab truck got me some things that I actually preferred. I got the SO Cummins/Aisin combo which I really hope is what I was looking for for fuel economy and longevity, not to mention it's cheaper than the HO and should be plenty adequate from a power standpoint. Also got the dual tanks which was a big want for me. Should get me in the neighborhood of a 600 mile towing range which fits my application very well.

As far as the Limited package, I'll admit I'm getting spoiled by all the comfort features. I seem to only shop for leather anymore after having a few leather trucks. Also, when you live in your truck for days at a time, it's nice to really enjoy what's around you, little things start to mean a lot. I'm partial to power heated seats, full power mirrors, steering wheel audio a cruise controls just to name a few. Also looking forward to seeing how the auto dimming headlights and rain sensing wipers work. I think I'll really like the pearl white with chrome and a black bed. I'm not a grandpa yet but maybe closer than I think. The only high priority box that I couldn't check is a light colored interior. Nothing new, seems everyone has dropped the light colors and went back to black. I'm old enough to remember how hot black interior vehicles got here in the Midwest in the summertime. Thought we were smart enough not to go back there but I guess I overestimated some. I went with the Indigo/Frost so at least some of it is light.

Btw, long time GM convert here giving Ram a chance. Trading off a 2021 3500 High Country with the Wonder front clip. I think the Ram is a better looking truck now, fwiw.

I may be wrong but I think the chassis cabs are actually tuned down. Not sure of the HP and Torque but wanted to throw that in, in case you weren’t aware. I was going chassis cab until I heard that.

They are detuned some as compared to an SO but depending on rear end gearing, they have a + 3-5K towing capacity advantage with the Aisin (1-3 gears are deeper).

I researched the hell out of it 4 months ago and I thought the C/C engine was the same as a normal SO engine. There's no option for the HO, I know that. I'll have to dig back into it and refresh my memory.

Edit: Ok I checked it out again and it appears the SO engine is 370/850 and the C/C engine is 360/800. The 360/800 is what I remembered but I didn't realize the std SO engine has a bit more.

Got a bighorn because mainly I dont care for leather and I wanted vynil floors because of dogs. Most of the other features I can add later. Got a diesel because it's what I wanted. Red because I always wanted a big red truck since I was a kid. Got the bench seat for.....reasons.
I'm planning on using it offroad and to eventually haul a trailer. So it fits the bill. Even with out all the "fancy" features it's still the most tech filled car I've ever owned.
Probably could have gotten a limited but if I'm gonna spend over 100k on a vehicle it's gonna be on a GTR.

Then I guess call me an old school millennial. I like the knobs to turn. Plus and this is subject to one’s preference but I think it also looks better. Either way, at the end of the day, we all get to order what we want.
