I'm sorry, but I have already had to trade one ram cummins due to reduced performance and mileage thanks to a PCM update.

I got the letter today. Aside from emissions compliance, I want to know if this is going to reduce performance and/or MPG. I paid for 1K ft/lbs, 400 HP, and that's what I expect, and this thing is already hard enough on fuel and DEF. I don't want to end up like the poor Ecodiesel owners whose trucks turned into dogs after the reflash. Until I know more I will not be bringing mine in.
Ram Cares,
I am reposting the above in case you overlooked it. It is easy for you to tell us to submit our trucks for recalibration to save FCA's bacon, but what about the owners??? We paid huge sums for these trucks, and expect assurance that performance, horsepower, torque, mpg, and driveability will not be negatively affected. Otherwise, we have been deceived.

@RamCares .....I received the card in the mail for my 2019 Ram 3500 VB6 recall and the dealer is saying that my truck does NOT require the update. Also when I check the FCA recall site it also does NOT come up as needing the recall. I guess I'm rolling without it, What are your thoughts???

Interesting point! I had my dealer do it yesterday, but he too mentioned, after the fact, that it only applied to trucks that are sold or destined for California. As I mentioned in a separate post - since it has been completed, I am seeing no difference in performance or any other issues.

I'm interested in seeing what calibration revision was installed for a HO truck. This is what was done to my truck a few weeks ago. Questioning if this Is the same thing as what I already had done.

Mine is now showing up on the Mopar Recall site. Also @dailed-in I hope you don't mind I saw your VIN on the PIC you posted. I ran your VIN on the site and it is also on the Recall site as INCOMPLETE. The funny thing is it's now showing as a Campaign and not a recall.

Kate @RamCares must have hooked us up ;).....Thank you.

I was just at the dealer again day before yesterday asking about this VB6 update and he said nothing was showing for my truck so what they did a few weeks ago included the vb6 update. Typical dealership crap. They really have no clue!

I'm going to the dealer today for an oil change. When I made the appointment they didn't see the recall in their system. I think now that its actually in the Mopar system....as I believe it just hit the system TODAY......and hopefully the dealer will be able to see it now. I'll keep you posted if they are able to see it today.

Having filed many warranty claims in other industries, some dealers don't promptly file their claims, and when filed there may be documents, photos, or a parts return that needs to be completed before the manufacturer approves the claim for payment, and updates the system.

It was in the dealer system today. I think it was a case of the Recall being put out by FCA and the dealers system doesn't get updated right away. FCA put it out on 18 February and it took about 3 weeks (today) for my VIN to catch up. When I made the oil change appointment 2 days ago the dealer said my VIN was NOT attached to that recall. Today he said yes your VIN does require the PCM being updated. It's the bottom item on the attached pic

Has the PCM update affected the engine's performance?

Mine was conducted while it was in the shop for the same thing (8th time). I haven’t noticed a difference in anything.

Thx but I don't anticipate having any trouble getting this addressed - if/when that occurs. However, I do wish that FCA would address its lack of transparency as regards this update. I, like many others here, am not satisfied with simply complying with vagueness and thereafter chugging merrily down the road... or not. What is this update accomplishing? What engine/emission components are affected? Will the emissions system be compromised without the update? Will the engine's power output be affected? Will it use more/less fuel/DEF? Will the DPF system regen more frequently? I'm quite certain that someone at FCA knows the answers to these questions so let's have it. And please, don't suggest that I query the dealer - they weren't even aware of the proper oil to put in this latest iteration of the Cummins. :(

I would like to know what the emissions update is asked my dealership and they don't know anything probably going to end up like Volkswagen

A big thanks to ant today for sorting out my electrics and a nice bottle set-up too, we had a few runs in the ole beemer and tried a few setting of the fueling box ,ended up with a 50 hp going in and it felt well strong so lots more trail and error to come, but the first signs are great

You appear to be posting in the wrong thread.

This thread is specific to a RAM recall, not a general catch all thread.
