2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

We're making progress now:cool:. My truck arrived at Eagle Pass TX at 8:40 pm last night. Scheduled for interchange to UP at 10:30 this morning. I'm guessing the rest of the trip is going to take significantly longer than this first leg since it's over 400 miles from Eagle Pass to Port Arthur with San Antonio and Houston gateways in-between. It's pretty awesome to see it moving along.
It took my truck roughly 4 days from Saltillo to Houston.

I'm sure it will be frustrating when it's sitting at the end of the train ride waiting on a truck with no visibility until it hits the dealer.
Mine has been sitting in the train yard since 3/1, and yes, it is quite frustrating. I have spoken to the transport company and my VIN is at least showing on their log now.

I think this is ridiculous.... We as consumers are the ones that spent 70k-80k-90k-100k on ordering these vehicles, and we are the ones that have to dig around and try to find out how far along our vehicles are. Tracking them on boats, rail cars and trucking companies. Why cant Ram send us emails that give us status updates, once a week. Or allow Ram Chat to give as actual information, instead of these vague responses. My dealer hasn't gave me one ounce of information yet, unless I ask for a status update. He told me originally that he checks the order status every Monday morning. He doesn't send anything, so I email him on Tuesday to find out what he saw. He gets back to me 3-4 hours later. I doubt he even checks on Mondays, only checks when I ask.

Agreed. If the industry is really moving towards a custom order model where they don't keep a ton of cars on their lots, they're going to need to improve visibility into the build/shipping process. They could build a lot of customer goodwill by creating a web based system that would allow customers to see what's going on with their orders. I'm sure they must have thought about it and decided the cost of implementing it along with the additional customer service that might be required to answer the "why am I delayed" questions outweighed the benefits.

It used to exist...it was called VOTS.

Agreed. I would’ve paid an additional fee at the time of order to be able to access a web based tracking system that could’ve detailed and tracked my trucks entire build process. Would be really enjoyable to have cameras staged on specific stages of the assembly line that could snap still photos of your actual truck in different stages of the build process. If they want to move to the custom order model, then take the time and effort to make it an enjoyable process from start to finish. While I recognize that not everyone would be interested in such a thing, I feel confident in saying that a large portion of the truck buyers in this group would have appreciated such a tool. This wasn’t my first custom ordered truck and it certainly won’t be my last, and as someone who sees a purchase like this as more than “just a truck”, it would be nice to have more of a custom experience.

We live in a world where the consumers have very little to do with why things are run the way they are. It seems these days even more than ever we live in a world where the mentality is more of a get rich quick one than to have much care for integrity. I call it the “ lottery syndrome”. They want to make as much as they possibly can while doing the least they can get by with. Share holders dictate pretty much everything now days. Only if they are losing considerable money to the competition will they then make changes. Sad but true.

I totally agree with all that.

You have to take Ram Chat descriptions and translate into the status codes...
So they told me getting final accessories put on. That doesn't really translate to a code. Only accessory i can think of is the rear wheel liners. I didn't order steps or a tonneau. ‍ guees I'll wait and see.

You have a equipment listing posted on 3/21. But, no window sticker yet. Their comments make sense. It's most likely in JB.

2022 Ram 3500 SRW Limited Longhorn. 6.7 HO Pearl white.
(Don’t have it yet)
I have a feeling that is what is happening with mine. I checked with them last week and was told that. Ord 1/19 2500 BH 6.4. Still no window sticker either.:(

Checked again just now and the system says it departed La Encantada CU at 5:46 PM and is headed to the destination. Sounds like it's rolling . . .
Could you please post the link to the railway system you are using? I have one headed to MD one of these days. Thanks!

Start to finish build time is only about 8hrs in total. Sometimes that encompasses two different plant shifts depending when your frame enters the production floor. Now it’ll be sent to the outside body vendor for add-on stuff like bed liner , running boards, etc. as long as everything you ordered is available. The real wildcard variable these days seems to be shipping. Will it go by boat or by rail is a big one….Rail seems to be far more reliable.

Depending on which rail network your truck is on, you may be able to utilize more than one of these systems to track your railcar. Each one gives slightly different information about location / ETA / etc. I’ve found for the most accurate information you may need to cross reference your railcar with multiple systems. Each system has its own little nuances that take some getting used to when it comes to entering your information.
