2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Ok so I just found this forum and I’m not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse. Some of yalls stories give very high hopes and some give major anxiety lol. This is my first time ordering a vehicle and I had no idea it was this stressful waiting. On 12/30/2021 I ordered a 22 2500 bighorn with the lowest package that I could get the sport and off-road package with a center console. Nothing fancy on the truck The dealer said they were telling people 10-12 weeks and that seemed like a long time but reading this thread I feel like maybe I’m in for a longer wait….. what has been the general consensus on average wait times?
Very Very few happening in 10-12 weeks. I would say the middle road for orders is 14-16 weeks an yet some a few weeks or months longer than that.

As an aside, this isnt just a RAM issue or even a supply chain issue. Way back in 2000 i ordered a 2001 mustang gt from the factory exactly as I wanted it. Months later it had not been built and I happened upon one on a random dealer lot. Scooped that one up and cancelled my factory order.

The dealer that I ordered from was tiny, and the one that had inventory sitting on the lot was gigantic. So maybe the dealer’s annual sales play a role in when orders get built?

@brv10 informed me my truck is sitting at the train yard waiting for a delivery truck but it’s gone into KZLD , has this happened to anyone before waiting on pickup from the train yard before transfer to the dealer ?

Mine is expected to arrive somewhere between the 18th and the 28th. Next week is 12 weeks. 28th is 13ish. SO we will see if it actually gets here by then as they originally said the ETA was 1/11 to 1/24

Well when you see more optioned limited at a dealer lot or on the chart ordered after your own order I say bs. I’ve never had this kinda loaded truck it’s a limited mega cab with air ride ,HO dual alternator , and dealer clicked on tow technology not my choice I wanted level 1 but said I guess if stereo sounds good then I’m fine with it I don’t need all the other stuff. I’ve worked my ass off for many years to pay off all debts and my truck was paid for that I got in 2015 so how I choose to order is my business I’m not rich I’m not broke just decided I wanted to have a really extra nice truck to travel with for camping and daily driving it’s my only vehicle. But it does piss me off seeing twins to my order sitting on a lot or seeing someone’s order just like mine that was ordered 11/20/22 but mine was skipped or others before me also. But anyway yes everyone order all they want and if they want all those useless luxuries then so be it!!!!
See this is well said! Totally agree. When you work hard and treat yourself a few luxuries you deserve it. Period.
Regarding the trucks ordered after and delivered sooner would be frustrating for sure. But Stellantis doesn’t care, but we do that’s why we’re frustrated.
Regarding factory cancellations, well in March - June it was happening a lot and another dealer I was speaking with told me and showed me.
I feel it’s like @Wolfcreek said. Your dealers need to manage expectations. Instead they just want the sale and inadvertently foment frustration for their clientele. I bet if your dealer said from the beginning you may be waiting 6 months and you still pulled the trigger you’d be OK. That being said @dkwagner waiting 8 months is absolutely not acceptable in any case.
The factory lines ARE NOT held up by someone ordering the world. Their truck just won’t go into production till available parts are received. The robotic machines still just punch ‘em out quickly. Sometimes said machines just add some options when the computer tells them to. Your Limited didn’t hold up someone’s Tradesman.

I may emphasize on the options to nudge at somes things i personally may not even want if it was free. But your right ordering a custom truck with a ton of cool options isnt an issue. Time expectancy for such a nice truck should be a bit more relaxed.
I think the point others were making it it seems to have Nothing to do with Options - The high end trucks with plenty of options are moving just as fast as the low end with no options - in many cases the Longhorns and Limiteds are moving faster than the Laramies with less equipment. Some have speculated the higher optioned trucks are higher profit and get preference over limited parts inventory. Or maybe there are just less Longhorns and Limiteds and they slip in with the competing with higher quantity of Laramie orders.

The bitch of it is seeing a high optioned truck on your Dealer's lot just like yours but different color and it has higher VIN than yours by several thousand

On May 17 I ordered a Laramie, mega, night edition, hemi, level A, protection group, anti spin, side steps, spray in liner, 8.4 screen. NOT a heavily optioned truck. I was told it could be 120 days at that time. It was built on Nov 19. Still not here. There is nothing even close to reasonable about waiting 8 months.

Except production did not start till August and then add the production shut down for shortages in September. Don’t get me wrong, I do empathize with you and the rest that have waited so long for their trucks. I went into this knowing it would be a wait.

I ordered a 4500 Laramie on 30 September. On December 10th it was KZ - it still hasn't arrived here in central Texas and no one knows just where it is........

I keep seeing all these different letters I’m assuming are status codes. D1,kz..etc. where Can I look to inform myself of these codes?

I ordered on Oct 14, it’s a loaded 3500 mc dually window sticker is over $97000 just saying for reference. It is my truck the way I wanted it, no one else should care how I ordered it. I was told by my dealer it arrived in Salt Lake City, 30 miles from my house today. My original eta was 1-11 to 1-21. So it looks like I will get my truck real close to 12 weeks. I am happy about that. I have almost left this sight because of the negativity some times. Enjoy the ride you will have the truck for along time you will soon forget how long it took once it’s here.

Hey y’all. I’m in the DFW area and I ordered (‘22 2500 mega cab Limited CTD, loaded. Sunroof & rear air included) with with Mark Dodge on 12/8. I reached out to them yesterday and was told that my truck is scheduled to begin production on 2/2, which is way sooner than I expected!

Not sure how long it will take to actually show up, but I’m beginning to get excited.
This is good news to me, as I ordered from Mark Dodge on the same day 12/8. 3500 tradesman SRW HO long bed.

My wife had to reel me back in a little bit tonight . I got a little bent because I keep dropping stuff and she reminded me at least I can use my hands.
I’m very thankful that I have been blessed enough to be able to buy a new truck. I’m sure there are folks all over this country that would love to be able to order a new truck. I think sometimes we and ME can get caught up in the process and forget how blessed we are .

I’m ok with people coming on here and venting, complaining, or whatever about Ram, dealers, salesman, etc. What IS not ok is complaining about other members and the content they post! If you don’t like it or the trucks that they worked hard to buy weather it’s a Basic Tradesman ORRRRR a loaded to the gills Limited MegaCab Dually, how about just finding another thread or better yet, just keep comments to yourself, or go complain to your wife. We are a collective group of consumers here to buy numerous levels of a product. The “shame” game doesn’t belong in this thread.

"or go complaint to your wife" - yeah, my wife is sick of me even saying anything about my truck at this point. Should be at the Dealership well before next weekend. Now I have the oh ****, what things do I want to put on my truck when it gets here.

Hey everyone, I ordered my truck Aug,23 ( so going on 20 weeks ) 2500 limited longhorn. I have my VIN entered on the docs. and on cryptosticker. Ramchat keeps telling me that the parts are collected and waiting to be scheduled to be built. But my dealer stated that the truck is already built and has a ship date of 01/11 (today). Cryptosticker hasnt sent me and email with my window sticker nor is the docs. showing anything. Anyone have any ideas on who to trust/ what's really going on??

I accepted the wait. I even doubted it would be here within 120 days. THE problem is they have skipped over earlier CUSTOMER SOLD orders as old as mine while DELIVERING dealer and sold orders taken in Sept, Oct, Nov. You can't pin supply issues on that.

Crytptostickers never sent me my email. I found the truck was built from an awesome member on this site BRV10, and then my dealer so I went to crypto and plugged my info again and my sticker and build sheet populated. I may have got my build sheet elsewhere. Can’t remember. Ram Crap knows nothing. Bunch of well meaning folks with a computer and limited info that’s usually outdated or just plain wrong.
If you leave your last 8 of your vin the vin number genie may come around and give you the most up to date information. Better then your dealer.
