My truck is just west of Baton Rouge this morning at about 3:00 AM. I’m sure that other Floridians may have their truck on this same train. This train is headed to Orlando. It is supposed to arrive on the 13th of this month.
Houston is only 145 mi from Lake CharlesI just fir grins went on line for some quotes for shipping. Did 4 brokers. What a joke. After giving name, email, phone and all the crap they ask they promise a quote but send you a request to call them. 1 company was easy but the price is $1400 from Louisiana to South Denver area.
Think I’ll just end up flying to New Orleans and getting MD to deliver it there.
I assume you mean Trailer Brake Control?Dumb question here, but I’m not seeing brake controller anywhere online. It’s not part of Laramie towing tech package, so I’m assuming it may be standard on HD trucks? It’s an option on half tons, and my wife’s Laramie has it, but can’t find window sticker to check it out. Her truck wasn’t an ordered vehicle.

I assume you mean Trailer Brake Control?
It is coded as XHC and is standard equipment on a HD Laramie and I believe it is standard on all RAM HD trucks
The attachment shows particularly a Laramie 2500 4x4 CCSB Hemi.
FWIW I had trouble nailing down what trims came with the universal garage door opener in the driver's visor. Important to me since I use mine daily.
The trailer brake controller is optional on the Tradesman, standard on all other trim levels.I assume you mean Trailer Brake Control?

Slow train - drive is 10+ hr.My truck is just west of Baton Rouge this morning at about 3:00 AM. I’m sure that other Floridians may have their truck on this same train. This train is headed to Orlando. It is supposed to arrive on the 13th of this month.
Most likely adding cars or dropping off cars as they go or sitting on a side track as other trains go by. Who knows it could be any number of things that takes them so longSlow train - drive is 10+ hr.
Only negatives I see are Houston Airports or New Orleans Airport these days are busy and not particularly people friendly facilities - Another option is Lake Charles airport - relative small airport but United and American used to service it - have not checked recently.Houston is only 145 mi from Lake Charles
New Orleans is 205 mi from lake Charles. Your truck and driver would have to drive 60 mi further to deliver.
And then, for your own sake, Denver is closer to Houston than it is New Orleans by about 250 mi difference. I mean, unless you want to drive your new truck that much further on it's maiden voyage on purpose (I understand) opt for Houston IAH. It's probably the better location for everyone.
It left on the 27th of DecemberWhen did your truck leave the factory?
Mine sat in a rail yard 30 miles west of its destination for several days - never could figure out why. But does not seem to be uncommon - either waiting for space at railhead to unload or maybe waiting for train to be reassembled to go to next way point. Either way, very frustrating. Most likely adding cars or dropping off cars as they go or sitting on a side track as other trains go by. Mine is on the second of three train connections.Mine sat in a rail yard 30 miles east of its destination for several days - never could figure out why. Sweet! Mine left the 22nd heading to Nashville and the salesman has been off since then and haven’t had any updateIt left on the 27th of December
Took mine a few weeks. Check the spreadsheet and look at when others went into D1 and when they got their equipment list and window sticker. So when the truck goes into a D1 status is there usually a build date populated?
I’m fine, out of quarantine. Thanks for asking!@Lee Iacocca Hey Grumpy, I think I read that you have Covid? Now I haven’t seen you lurking in a week. You mind letting us know your OK!? I figured a stupid little virus like Covid would be afraid of your old cantankerous self.
How you liking your truck?
I know a lot of Members are getting ready to take delivery of their new trucks in the next few weeks. Have any of you taken the time to prepare yourself for delivery once you arrive at the dealership? You're going to be like a kid with a free pass to the cookie jar and so excited you will probably forget many of the things you planned to check or questions you wanted to ask the dealer. Over the past 4 months I have put together a Checklist I plan to carry with me during the retrieval of my new truck. This will assure I leave no stone unturned. I've already provided this list to many of the members on his Forum, but for many of the new Members or anyone who missed my original post, if you will let me know I will provide you my list. Cheers! This is particularly important for those members who are flying or driving long distances to retrieve their truck. It will help you to concentrate on the important factors regarding your purchase before you leave the dealership!
