Glad to hear that. I hope you get it soon. I'm near Raleigh NC, and my truck is no were to be found. I ordered 9/8.

Overpaying is purely a matter of personal opinion. Based on discussion here, in many locations, that would probably be a good local deal. You are the best judge of all the factors - distance, logistics, transport costs, loyalty to dealer, future service relationship with dealer, trade-in issues, taxes, etc. If you are buying $2000 under MSRP, you are doing better than those paying MSRP or worse MSRP + Market Adjustments. Back in early September, I would have willingly paid MSRP for a truck on dealer lot if they had what I wanted but most dealers were playing games with limited inventories and Market Adjustments MSRP + $5000. Market is loosening up a bit now, but many dealers are still playing the Market Adjustment game.

If your question is whether you could find a better price, probably yes. How much better? Not sure how much as Tradesman is probably less margin than more expensive trucks - but you can always send build info to Mark Dodge for a Quote.

Would it be a better deal for you, only you can answer that considering the above factors?

Would it be worth cancelling and potentially losing a deposit and local dealer good will and starting the order process over at a dealer miles away from home and starting the build clock again to save xxxx - again only you can answer.
I agree. When you add in the savings from the difference you pay in sales tax due to trade in credit that some states give you plus the expenses for travel including fuel, hotels, food and lost wages from taking time off from work, sure their is still some savings depending how far away you are but everyone has to decide if its worth the effort. I know my credit union is a pain to deal with on out of state vehicle purchases but their interest rates are some of the lowest I've encountered. I got a little off MSRP and I had thought about going out of state for a bigger savings but in the end I was on a time crunch so I couldn't start over on the ordering process. Sometimes you make out like a bandit and sometimes not so much.

Nowadays, if you gag your kids you go to jail for child abuse. When mine were growing up and in the car I was told that Benadryl had helped others. I can neither confirm or deny any such actions.o_O
I didn't find out about Benadryl until mine were grown so I can't confirm that either. But I can tell you the evil eye worked well...

Looking for honest opinion here. I currently have an order in and probably showing up in a few weeks. It’s just a tradesman CC 6.7 with some modest options. MSRP on the sticker is $62,015. I agreed to $60,000 before I knew about MD and ever seen this forum. Do you think I’m over paying for that truck ?
Also consider the cost to fly and drive or shipping the truck to you. For me it was worth buying from MD. Even with shipping the truck to NY they smoked the local dealer by almost 10k.

You make some fair points, but you’re kinda making my point for me….

I know the process of building these trucks is complicated and there are lots of moving parts. The point of my post is this: if I buy a $7 pack of socks online I get an email telling me a label has been created and a tracking number that lets me see it until it arrives at my door. But you order an $85k truck from a multi billion dollar company like FCA and their Customer Care can’t give you a straight answer about where the product is. Instead we are relying on like minded folks to gather the information on their own time. I’m grateful for all the effort that those on this forum have put into helping their fellow members. I am just saying that any company that wants to put the customer first should be able to be a little more transparent and be able to give the customer information more readily.
Actually when you buy the $7 pack of socks YOU are buying the pack of socks and the company received money from YOU and is shipping to YOU. When you buy an 85k truck you are buying it from the DEALER who is buying it from the company. FCA's customer is the dealer, you are the dealers customer. The yarn company doesn't provide YOU with tracking on the yarn going to the sock company. They provide that data to the sock company.

I ordered my truck for basically invoice using Chrysler Affiliate program. I’m happy with that . Im sure I could have got it cheaper with one of the dealership on this forum but the time and travel would have eat that up. There’s also that little unwritten service rule of take it back we’re you bought it they will fix it.

Yep, my dealership will fix it, no matter what it is ....... for $150/hr + parts+markup ++++++

Well Stated!

I bet it has always been random - its just that you know more thanks to this forum and things are moving more slowly and are stretched out more due to parts availability issues - but I agree it seems illogical and is very hard to understand and accept.

Yes it is very frustrating for sure. Everyone just wants what they ordered and are paying good money for. I’ve tried to get answers from dealer and they tell me their rep don’t have any info why it’s being skipped now for so long compared to others it sucks for sure to know nothing at all. Hell who knows if I will even get it and be switched to a 2023 like others have I have no idea at all but very frustrated more every week that goes by. Even came close to buying off the lot when I see a similar truck I ordered and by vin was ordered 4-6 weeks after mine

Just out of curiosity since I am local. Who did you order from and were you able to get any kind f deal? Back when I ordered in July I couldn't find anyone willing to go under msrp.

Congrats! I have the same exact truck ordered 10/5 minus night edition. Good to see some mega limiteds getting built. My estimated ship was 1/6 and has been pushed once already. So hoping this is the week for build. The bright side is ordered carli 3.25 for 3500 air suspension on 10 5 also and it shipped today.. this supply thing is crazy… pictures when you get it!
I would like to jump on 37's band wagon. AEV bumper will be going on which makes the truck look like it missed leg days. I'll follow your build if you start a thread.
