Good call. Just wondered if there was some weird hold on the 6.4’sAlmost impossible to find any HD trucks on the lot right now. Cummins is just a bigger seller so they are producing more so if you find anything it's most likely going to be a diesel.
.
I had to order mine I have had at least 10 people ask me where I got it. I personally wouldnt trade it for anything I could have bought a diesel. I didnt want it.I went to several dealers of ALL brands. 2 moths ago.
I wanted a 250/2500, 4x4, light color exterior, leather seats, gas engine. Every single dealer said I have 3 HD's on the lot, 2 are sold, but the other is a black truck, with cloth seats, 2wd, diesel....?
Nope!
So I ordered a truck to all my specs. Enduring the wait.
Not gonna find a high end gasser hardly at all these days. But I do see two 4x4 CCSB tradesmans on the lot with 6.4 Hemi's. I live in coastal bend texas.
It was in my driveway within 2 months.I had to order it... Took 6 1/2 months to get here (three weeks ago).

You’re right, I could get a diesel. My old ecodiesel scared me right in to a hemi 1500, and I’d love the extra payload for our next travel trailer. The TT market is insane right now too.. so I can definitely hold out for a while.
Awesome truck!I had to order mine I have had at least 10 people ask me where I got it. I personally wouldnt trade it for anything I could have bought a diesel. I didnt want it.
Thank you.Awesome truck!
The ecodiesel and cummins have 0 in common with each other save burning the same fuel.

Does anyone have any scoop? Seems like lots only have the cummins right now. A few dealers have the gasser, but only in 2 door tradesmen. I’m in the Northern California area.
You are 100% correct.
They both have EGR's, high pressure fuel pumps, DEF, fuel quality issues, potential fuel in water.. and all the other issues that just don't seem to come with a gas rig.
Not scientific but with the jacked up prices on lots the Hemi’s likely sell faster, current street prices for Hemi is what you typically pay for a diesel…Does anyone have any scoop? Dealers try to stock lots with the more capable engine that has a history of more sales.
All of which are specific to each motor and have 0 reputation for failure in the cummins.
And further, which gas are you looking at that has 0 emissions equipment?

Super confused the purpose of these comments? I didn't come in here to ask about gas vs. diesel. After owning a diesel, I made the decision they are not for me. I have seen HPFP recalls, EGR recalls, DPF issues and DEF nozzles clogging on different makes. I'm sure I could cruise this forum for examples. As a personal choice, I'd rather not deal with any of that and take the lower potential for head studs snapping or lifters grenading instead.
Add in the benefits for initial cost, ownership cost and larger payload.
I have owned 7 modern diesel trucks. My 2014 eco diesel did have a couple of emission issues that were fixed, the other 6 have been all Cummins rigs. I haven’t had a single major issue of any kind on any of my Cummins trucks. I also owned 2 6.4 Hemi 2500’s, and they were also excellent trucks. You are 100% correct.
