2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Before this whole "shortage" crap, I always got EP on in stock vehicles and it was my understanding that it was mandatory for them to accept it. This was coming from a big wig from chrystler.
Have been using them for years. Its always the dealer's option to accept them. It sucks but thats the way they roll. Seems like it sticks it to the smaller dealerships but they also put certain vehicles off limits to the program. I too have gotten most every purchase off the lot but this is a different landscape!

Well.... Look what the salesman just texted me! It exists! I am shocked, amazed, excited and sad! I am working 6 12 hour shifts 0600 to 1800 monday to Saturday for 2 more weeks. I need to try to convince my boss that I really need to get out of here early.... like freaking now! I don't know how that is going to go.

WOW! That's a good looking truck. Screw work. Go get it!

I found the attached article that outlines some of the HO differences

That's a decent article, but it's primarily the differences from the older engine to the newer CGI engine.

Generally, I am not a fan of the chrome grills. However, there's something about your truck and it looks great. Between the color, grill, and the interior that is one FINE looking truck you have.

Houston, we have my BUILD SHEET!!! I didn't check yesterday so not sure exactly when it popped up but it's there today!!! No window sticker, yet.

I emailed Sandi about what update she might see.

Details for those on mobile:
2022 2500 Laramie Mega Cab - 6.7CTD 4WD - Billet silver - Level B, Safety B, Towing B, BSM, 8.4 NAV; Ordered 9/2/2021 from Mark Dodge; VIN assigned 9/9/2021; D1 status as of Oct-29; Est. build date Nov-17. Build sheet: Nov-5
Just received email from Cryptostickers that build sheet was found. Had forgotten I had signed up with them. Means build sheet definitely was just available today.

Some one has a build sheet and ETA. BH ordered the end of May. D1 on 9-26 build started 11-3.

No window sticker but I called Ram and was informed my delivery window is between 11-23 and 12-1. Supposedly being put on rail today. Was also told the window sticker might not pop until it gets to the dealer sometimes.

Now my window sticker popped. What a day lol.

Really like that interior, whole truck looks great!

Most all new cars and trucks have a clear coat on them. Its a resin system without using google. Yes, you want it. It basically goes on top of your paint and protects it. It will help keep the paint intact. Coatings are very important. They protect from rust and most have a UV protection on them.

If you want a better coating system on top of that you can also put a ceramic coating on top of it. I would make sure that you hire someone that is qualified and has a proven track record on putting these on. If done wrong, they can mess the look of your car or truck up for a few years. I was going to have a system put on my truck before it was totaled, I just could not find anyone that really was qualified to do it locally. Do you research
There are “pro” ceramic coatings and “prosumer” coatings. The ones targeted at consumers are pretty easy to apply, not too much different than wax. You still need to do surface prep though. If that’s not a skill you have, then pay a detailer.

If you mess up the application, you can polish it off with a buffing compound.

If someone doesn’t want to do a full Ceramic coating, then Turtle Wax (surprisingly) makes a really nice spray on/buff off ceramic spray line. About 9-12 months of protection.

So how long does a ceramic coating by a pro last?

Not good news stopped by my local dealership and picked up a new POC SHEET, now I went to C "sub firm status" from D. The dealership did tell me that we have price protection so not to worry about that other stuff so no worries on that part.

Mine did that about a month and a half ago. An insider told me I was in D1 status, but was looking at a different source.

So when the dealer said you were went to C from D you were really in D1?

Crazy to see how many people ordered after me with more options getting shipped. Worse problems to have but this is highly annoying. I feel bad for those who ordered before me, must be brutal. Im thinking delivery by January which will be about 6 months from order date.
Did you order the rear mini bar too?

And really in C from the Dealer's viewpoint. The dealer told me the Rep said that was a good thing and she thought i would go into production soon. I told her it was not a good thing, and the truck still doesn't have an estimated build date.

Again, it makes NO sense. Yours is a Limited NE. Have seen many of those come through and figured the margins must be higher on Limited and NE so they were prioritized. Maybe the winds have shifted on what is the latest commodity hold up. 12" screen? Rambox? Fancy leather? Maybe the dealers have rating and that also factors into the priority?

Makes you wonder how stressful it is as a Production Scheduler at the factory. Such a fluid situation. Probably changes daily if not hourly.

That was then when Lots were full of cars / trucks, this is now. Things have been going downhill for a while - first toilet paper, now parts for cars / trucks. Seems worse still since January - more demand, less supply due to port backup. Conditions perfect for Inflation and Price Gouging.
Lots of things we had 2 years ago, we are now expected to accept lower standards / longer delays/ higher prices - I would never have expected 2 different dealers to arbitrarily add $5000 over MSRP and say "Take It or Leave It".
My only pleasure is (a) I ordered more truck for much less money, well below MSRP, and (b) the closest of the 2 dealers (3 hr away) still had the same 2021 2500 Longhorn 6 weeks later and was offering me up to a $1500 discount (based on incentives that probably dont apply to most of us) - not sure if it was off MSRP or off MSRP +$5000 (more likely).
