Has anyone attempted to update their order while still in D status? Is that even possible?

Yes - depending on how far along you are and what changes, it MAY be possible but it will require permission from Regional Sales - at least thats what happened to me - but add of Tow Mode Camera was approved about a week after initial order was placed

It's possible but not guaranteed. Your dealer can submit the request. It's up to Ram to accept it.

Beware that if your change is accepted, your entire truck will be re-invoiced. If the price has gone up since you ordered, your price will go up.

Nope I tried the salesman and I both missed when they clicked on towing technology it kicked out level one. and then we clicked on surround view camera system so I have all options but the 17 speaker system adaptive cruise and lane assist wasn’t to happy but it was both of our faults. And that we a two weeks in they asked sales rep got told no changes once you have a vin.

I was told the same thing. Realized that the Alpine system wasn't on my build. Asked salesman and Ram Customer Care and they said no changes could be made. Very very disappointed.

RamBox (+$995), RamBox Utility (+$295), Chrome Tow Hooks (+$95), 20" wheels (+$1,695) ... it can really add up quick on a Longhorn.

To great dismay, a fully loaded, like-for-like Longhorn build is about $750 more than its equivalent Limited. I went back and forth a bunch between the two and ultimately landed on the Longhorn if for no other reason to avoid rock chips on a black grille and bumper. On a Limited, I would -have- to get the night edition.

But it's really six of one half dozen of the other... they made the right choice rebranding from Laramie Longhorn to Limited Longhorn.

No surround vision camera on anything besides the limited. That was the deal breaker for me. Can’t live without it.

Can they not use the ones from the stock wheels?
They can but since I have the tires already and wheels are shipped I rather just get them mounted and have them ready. It will cost the same to get the sensors vs mounting and unmounting the factory wheels

The interior colors are totally different between the two. That's a big difference you can't change. If you want the cowboy or rural country look or all brown look, you need the Longhorn. If you want the city look or all black, the Limited.

Spot on! There's a video somewhere with Ryan Nagode, FCA's interior design chief, describing it that way, too. Main point for anyone considering Longhorn v. Limited is there isn't any difference in quality of materials, it just comes down to aesthetic preference.

Personally, choosing was not so easy. I've owned both and was dead-set on another Limited but, after sitting in a '21 Longhorn, was enamored with the subtle gold/bronze accents. Way nicer than my previous gen Longhorn. Also considered frost/blue Limited to try something different but was worried about keeping it clean; it also wasn't available in Night Edition, so there was more than enough reason to sway the decision back towards a Longhorn.

My only complaint is a) the cattle tan surface is a little too orange, and b) for $85k, there should at least be the option for an alcantara headliner. Otherwise, Ram is killing it with the interior design...

Packages are a little different. On the Longhorn, it's available with the Towing Technology Group.

We were able to do it with my dad's order but their were mitigating circumstances. The dealer put duals and 4.10 gear ratio on my dad's order but those choices were only meant for my order. The dealer had to contact the regional rep who then contacted the factory to work to change the order. His order serial number stayed the same but the center portion of the VIN changed to reflect changing to SRW from DRW. So possible but not sure what your situation is so YMMV. Good luck!

Also need TPMS P/N for trailer tires - are they same as truck?

The option comes with a bag of 4, unless those are stuck on a ship waiting outside Long Beach.

I took this last week.
