I just saw this video on Youtube
that the black door pillars on the trucks are just a vinyl wrap and it is painted underneath. Has anyone tried this?

It has been discussed and there are pics out there where folks have removed the wrap. Like opinions....to each their own. I tossed around removing them on my white night but haven't yet.

Hard ol plastic! I am tall so i have my arm ontop of the door pannel so even on the fancy pants trims i would be feeling the poverty plastic!

I took mine off, easy to do.
Only issue is you may find your paint has faded after a period of time and pillars will not exactly match when you uncover them.

I like the black pillar. I think it would be better if it was gloss though. It would match the tinted glass better.

Mine was a flame red like above. I took vinyl off because it tore and begin lifting at about 4 year mark. Even though the exterior paint still looked pristine the red had faded considerably compared to pillar paint.

I don't think they use as good of paint as they used to. My 2007 looked almost the same color as my 2020 when they were parked next to each other. I wish I had more pictures of them together.

I might buy some 3m gloss or satin film sometime and swap out the factory stuff.
