2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

What really grinds my gears is the fact that just searching the last couple days for 2022 Power Wagons on google and find an awful lot of dealer stock! A lot that are the same as my build but much later vins. So Ram pretty much stuck it to the early order guys to give dealers some inventory.
I believe the dealers have priority for stock, they have to keep the doors open. They prob order long before we have the chance.

I was thinking the same thing when I looked at auto trader today

Just found out my ‘22 Ram 2500 Laramie that I ordered mid August has an expected ship date of November 3rd! Super excited to get my new truck. Was figuring with the chip shortage and shutdowns that it would end up like so many other vehicles parked in a lot somewhere waiting for parts to arrive so it could me finished.
Not hating you but dang it they need to build the 3500s too!

I just tried that website, their initial offer was lower than the carmax online offer. Im going into carmax today to get an assessment. givemethevin did just call and say they will beat any carmax offer or give you $100 so I'll provide you an update later on with how it shakes out! Ready too offload my truck now since used prices keep going down. I'll drive my Jeep TJ until the new beast arrives (whenever that may be). No towing until next year.
Not on HD used truck

The BG status makes me think it is one of the items on there that FCA doesn’t like and the only one on there that sticks out to me is LPD (like that doesn’t belong there). If it was me I’d be asking my salesmen’s sales manger to contact FCA and ask WTF. We literally have the same build, down to the color, minus the switches, VSIM and LPD + I have blind spot monitoring.

EDIT: I just realized you’re in Canada so I’m definitely guessing because the packages are obviously different.
yah its stupid how the packages differ between countries , i wanted the LPD for the 5th wheel prep package , only makes sense, when i bought the truck they had to add the sunroof separately as they said it was restricted but was hoping it would slip threw as i see trucks with sunroofs getting shipped out these last few weeks , told my sales lady we would give it till november and then see if theres any movement , i know i won't love the truck as much if it doesn't have the sunroof ..

Yea I did 3500 HO Megacab srw in Patriot Blue with towing tech group, safety group, snow chief, cold weather group, lvl 1 package, sunroof, and 5th wheel prep. Thanks for replying.

You’re probably not getting this thing until next summer with all that in it lol.
Hope you get it fast but not before me

I believe there was a post last week that quoted Stellantis as saying Sold Orders have Priority (at least as of date of quote). Not sure that was always the case or if its even true.
And I do believe earlier sold orders should have priority, but it does not look like that is the case.
Wondering if, as someone else suggested, earlier trucks were started and sidelined waiting parts and are being sequenced among the current orders.
It would seem to be more efficient (more trucks out the door) to only start a truck you can finish in one day rather than bringing back in an earlier truck that was sidelined for some reason (lack of parts?) and inserting it back into the line at a specific point.

Assuming 700 a day x 365 days = 255,500 - VINs for 2021 go into 700,000 range so must be higher a lot than 700 a day or even 700 an 8hr shift - even if they are working 3 shifts x 365 days it would need to be 700 a shift - I would believe 800-1000 per 8 hr shift considering down time.

Or maybe thats why they are still working on 2021s.

Does anyone know is they have a stash of partly built trucks waiting in a storage area like Ford had waiting for semiconductor parts?
Maybe thats what happened to the unfinished 21's and the early 22's?

47 per hour, 8 hours for 1 truck.

It’s also been said that they are prioritizing higher content builds.

They start building late Sunday night, which may or may not be a good thing, unless they finish it Saturday and call it a Sunday build.

Thats 376 per 8 hr shift - assuming 3 shifts = 1128 per 24 hr day x 365 days thats only 411720 per year.
That has to be for 1 production line and there has to be more than one RAM HD line to get past 700,000 per year

Beautiful truck - cant see interior - did you go black or tan - loved the 68 Plymouth B-bodies in this color, but could not get the Saddle tan interior on them - only the black or 2 tone green. Now if they just came out with a Turbine Bronze with Saddle color interior and matching vinyl roof.
