Currently I am eyeballing the CJC Baja fog light kit and wonder if anyone have any input regarding the brightness of the kit.
I am thinking about the SAE version since the Sport would be too bright for oncoming traffic. But is it true that the SAE is much tuned down from the Sport version and not much better than the stock LED?
TIA!

I went with the SAE because I use them on the road. They cut off nicely and don’t blind people.

I didn’t have fogs from the factory so I can’t comment on how much brighter than stock they are.

Just another option to consider: Diode Dynamic SS3. My buddy has it and the output is better than my squadrons, im thinking about switching as well. The cjc kit is just oem parts, i sourced the parts myself.

In case you need the part numbers:

Bezel:68449343AA
I cant remember which rear bracket it was but its either:
-68449381AA or 68449383AA (i think it was this one)

It’s not a custom bracket to mount the light in the OEM bumper bracket?
I know the trim piece and main support bracket are OEM parts.
Also isnt the harness custom so that it’s plug and play with stock wiring?

How about the wiring? Anything specific I would need for the connection?

Something to consider: If you have the “auto fog on turns” there is no way that i know of to turn it off, so definitely get a light that is SAE. I have mine wired to an independent switch to bypass since mine are the sport combos.

Good call!

I have the Baja fog lights on my Laramie and love them. I turned off the cornering light feature using alphaodb. You can save a few bucks by sourcing the parts yourself (halogen bezels if you have led fogs) and the kit from Baja.

Also if you arn't comfortable with alphaobd you can just keep your fogs on and they won't come on and off.

Yeah I think because of this I am gonna order the sae version. Don't wanna bother no one.

Yeah on my previous Ram I did not have the SAE version and this time I do. Big difference. Light cutoff is obviously lower, but doesn't bother other drivers at all.

I have the stock LED fogs. I am happy with their output and the cutoff, but I was thinking about going to BD for the SAE in yellow. Has anybody had luck with the film kits? I might try the film until I pull the trigger on the BDs.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the difference between the stock and the Baja SAE output? Is it a significant improvement?

The SAE are the same exact LED, and driver as the Sport (it has the sport circuit board in there), they just have a different reflector and a block off plate that cuts off the light in a flat line so it doesn't blind on coming traffic.

And just FYI for anyone, I both both pro and sport models I can honestly say there isn't a noticeable difference in output between the 2 so don't spend double the money for pro's..

.

How much of a savings are we talking about if we buy the parts separate? I have a tradesman and CJC is asking 463 for the kit

BAJA DESIGNS TRADESMAN 2019+ RAM 2500/3500 FOG LIGHT KIT

I paid $333.00 for the kit from Baja that is technically for the Big Horn. I purchased from Poly Performance. Bezels are $20-$25 and then the brackets are $25-30.

As far as stock compared to Baja. They are brighter, however the biggest improvement is the wider angle and color especially in inclement weather, which afterall that's what their for.
