Chicken Lights

Anyone add "chicken lights"? to their trucks? I'm thinking about adding some to my running boards and in the gap between the tailgate and bumper. What lights/kits did you go with? Thanks!

Marker lights or clearance lights. Here's my toyhauler at night. I had them add lots of extra chicken lights.

Thats what the truckers call em. I saw a 17/18 Ram 2500 today that had them between the tailgate the bumper. They were like the ones on the horse trailer not the type Cberges has. They looked damn good.

These are held in place with 3M tape, they are LED and solar charged and come with a remote to turn on/off you can go clear, amber, or smoked lens.
Seems pricey, but I have no idea how much it would cost to install a hardwired set (and I don't think I'd want to drill into the roof anyway)

It ends up being a wash if you are having someone install the hardwired ones.

So basically, if you are going to have someone do the install of the hardwired, but you will do the wireless install...its the same.

But, if you will do the install yourself...the hardwired will run about 90 bucks, and if you have someone install the wireless ones, well I think you get the picture.

I want to add Cab lights to mine, I will be doing it myself and using the factory lights. Just got to find time and decent weather.

I've got the cab lights factory installed. Also had noticed that the mirrors have the running lights always on which I don't think previous years did. (see 1HasBeen's pic above).
If I add lights to running boards and under tailgate, I will run wiring to an aux switch. FCA made this easy at least.

I think that's a reflection in the left rear side glass...

Yes, the 4th Gen did not have the mirror light on except with turn signal.

The 4.5 Gen, it is also on as a market light. One of the ways you know RAM (and dodge) are really using social media...as this is a common complaint andmod in the forums.

That is what he meant was that that 4th Gen in the pic doesn't have the mirror light on.

You can see the reflection is nowhere near the mirror and can see the mirror light not on like the cab lights. On the 2019 the mirror light would be on with the cab lights.

I'm in the process of adding 2, 48" Light Bars inside my back window shining toward the rear of the truck (sort of like the 3rd brake light) with all the functions. I am very slow at doing things these days so It will be taking me some time to get it completed. Here are a couple of Video's I made while I am part way of making this happen. I am also in the process of working on the front as well. Later I will get to the side with additional lighting

Here is a link to the Tri-Row 48" LED Truck Tailgate Light Bar I am using. They are very bright and designed for Emergency Vehicles ,I am pleased with them so far.
The amber LED lights in the back window and front grill are Class 1 same light used on Emergency Vehicles (all Amber/White)
The Tail Lights and Head Lights are part of the optional VSIM module, Wig Wag settings (sales code XXS), ordered on the vehicle when I place the order for my truck.

@gbdunn: to add the factory running lights (pre-delivery), my dealer was only going to charge the actual cost of the lights at around $125 or so. Doing it after the fact, it would probably be a $400-$500 or so - but that is just a guess, it isn't too much work.

Nice, I pulled the lower plastic piece off to drill the holes and make the harness. My biggest fear is how the weight of snow and ice buildup will affect the harness. I ended powering it from the fuse box. drilled a tight hole in the back and pulled the wire through.

Your fuse tap is backwards. Power is supplied from the rear of the truck to the front.
