2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I had a 2019 Limited 2500 with sunroof and cab lights...it leaked.
I have a 2020 Limited 3500 with sunroof and cab lights...it leaks.
Both leaks were/are out of the oh crap handle, the pivot point for the drivers sun visor, and one of the plastic grills (microphone) up there.
The leaks occurred after a pressure washing as well as several rain storms.
I honestly don't know if it's the sunroof, the sunroof drain(s), or one or more of the cab lights. I traded the 2019 before the problem was solved.
On the 2020, the dealer replaced the sunroof...and the drain on another occasion. Problem not resolved.
So (not just because of the leaks), I ordered a 2022 Limited 3500. It still has the cab lights. I guess we'll see if that's it's problem...but, preemptive silicone sounds like it's in my future.
So you’re saying, with the sunroof I ordered, I should have a bucket handy for when it rains or I run the car through the wash?

no, it will soak into the headliner first or drain down the pillars. You will stay dry.
Whew. Thx. The next option was a poncho. Glad to hear it won’t be needed.
But in seriousness… I’ve never had a ram with a sunroof, so crossing my fingers I don’t regret it.

On my 2010 ram 1500 I had a sunroof and the only time it leaked in 225k miles was when I left it vented like an idiot. Its probably a hit or miss thing that depends on how careful the line worker was on that day. Just hope you are on the good side of that lol

Have you seen that color in person? I have and it looks nothing like the build simulator on the Ram site. One of the shops I go to someone has that color that works there, totally different in person. I still liked it enough to order it but not as much as the simulator
This is true. I showed my wife the my build sheet and she was like, “ok, cool” with the color. Then later on we were at a dealers lot and saw one sitting there, I pointed it out, and she goes, “oh wow, that’s WAY better than the pictures you showed me”

and, well, I agree!

Yep. Maximum Steel is a great color in person...the online color samples do not do it justice.
Earlier in this thread, someone posted this video of a Maximum Steel night edition. It's awesome. Personally, I prefer the chrome accents with this color.

Need financial advise if you well,

when you guys ordered your trucks, did you have the bank loan ready and if so when do you actually pay for the truck, upon receipt or before it gets shipped? i guess when is the time to go the bank and apply for the loan? I know most dealers require min deposit of 500-1000. when exactly your bank send the money over. I am paying half cash and half finance to lower my payments. can you please shed some light on that process. first time ordering a truck?

Financing is all done upon delivery (so when you pick up the truck from the dealer). You just put down the cash you want, then finance the rest. Either via the dealer or a financial institution of your choosing.

Got my sunroof replaced and Stellantis had a tsb for the drains which they replaced . So far so good.

Typically pre-approval is only good for 60-90 days, so that hit to your credit and it might expire before the truck is delivered.
Mark Dodge asked for a screenshot of your credit score or a loan pre-approval or proof of funds if paying cash.
I would hold off on the loan until your truck is inbound.

Spent some time working in a body shop. Sun roofs are fine, I have had a few over the years. Mostly stay closed like most here say. As far as the leak risk, and cost when ordering I chose not to get one.
Just a fair warning to everyone with cab lights. These trucks have very thin front leading edge seals. It barely takes any water pressure to blow the seal in. The leak will drip out the pull handle. I wouldn't advise directing any pressure washer stream in that region.
Used to replace a bunch when I was a Lincoln tech, not much fun when the motor fails in any position.

Got my Ram drive plus certificate today. Hopefully I will get to use it soon.

Did you confirm that Ram HD models are applicable for that certificate? Was just looking at that card online and noted that not all models may apply.

Currently work in a body shop, I hate doing sunroof repairs on customer cars enough I don't want to worry about mine. My 2019 leaked from the cab lights and dealers refused to fix it, so I sold it one of them just before prices came back down.

Well went to the dealer tonight to “discuss” some issues that I have been having with the dealer. Sales manager threatened to cancel my order, and 99% sure my salesman blocked my phone number lol. Told them they better not cancel the order on me. But for some reason I have a feeling they’re gonna cancel it behind my back still, even though I put a deposit on it lol
