AlfaOBD

Look on youtube for Charles pages.
He has a video on setting tire size and at the end, shows how to reset all the faults. Just go step by step with him and it will clear them.

There's a post somewhere on here too that walks you through it. Of course the check engine codes have to be cleared from the bcm i think

HELP, alfaobd has given me a ton of errors on the dash display.

I installed the kaodtech bypass and OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner on my 2021 2500 CTD and tried playing around with it for the first time.

The dash display is now looks like a Christmas Tree of errors.

Initially, I just wanted to first try to lower the TPMS limit to 25 psi for my new tires. I thought that was successful but apparently not. Next I tried to correct the the tire size. Thought that went OK too. I just selected the 35x12.5r18 Toyo from the drop down menu.

Lastly, I went into the trailer TPMS just to check it out. I do not have the TTPMS option nor any sensors. Again, just wanted to take a look.

I exited alfaobd, restarted the truck and a bunch of warning lights came on. Traction control, 4x4, check engine light, service trailer brake system and other errors are displayed. The display shows the 25 psi limit but all tires had over 40 psi but the numbers are still red in the display.

I tried "hard-reset" in alfaobd but that did not clear things up.

I tried disconnecting the batteries for about an hour and that did not help either.

Can anyone help me un-break my new truck?

Thank you!

You have to follow the directions.

Did you get this resolved?

What did you change?

Can you post a link to the Google Docs log file upload?

You did upload the BCM file before "playing" with it right?

Current log file should also show what changes were made at the bottom of each session.

To upload your System ID (BCM) config use the "Tools" icon in the upper right corner. Select "Upload to Google Drive," and link your Google Drive to AlfaOBD. Select "Upload to Google Drive" and "Upload Faults and Status Log". Select "Body_Chrysler_Info".

Under vehicle config 3, the new setting is 194 liters. Is a cluster calibration as outlined in that Dropbox document still necessary for 2021 model year?

I just did it without reconfig of the cluster, works great (2021 2500 Mega). I would think that there's no reason to reconfig the cluster...as the sending unit is the same, in the same place.

Just update this -

DTE - VehConfig3 - Fuel Capacity - 194.000 liters

And the .000 are important....

And you're good.

Seperate AlfaOBD question:

I have a 2021 2500 - connects to BCM fine, Using Windows AlfaOBD, version 2.3.0. Can't connect to the RF hub. Any ideas? (Using a USB interface). YES, I have a bypass (re: connects to BCM Just Fine).

What bypass do you have- is it a bypass that only has one connector to plug into the canbus blocks?
What message does it give after it runs through all of it CAN connection attempts?

The one that comes from Z automotive.
Works good with the BCM. Connected about 50% of the time on software version 2.2.8 or whatever the last one was to the RFH but was 100% on the BCM.

gives the ISO error. I'll log into that laptop and look it up again.

With the ISO error, you should be able to click continue, and it should proceed to connect.

Ya, so on the old version of the software it took about 10 minutes of that to connect. Now, not at all.

No I'm not using any advanced connection settings I'm just using the simple connect button. Would you recommend any different settings for timing or anything like that? For the adapter?

Or with my bypass adapter is one of the bypass plugs for the CAN that the BCM is on and the other bypass plug goes to the CAn bus that the RF hub is on?

I can assure you I am not an expert in with the plugs do

You should be good with the z bypass, as it is a full bypass. After you click continue from the iso message, what does it say in the top left- does it just “hang” at please wait, or does it cycle through the 5 connection attempts and fail?
Make sure in advanced mode you have record data turned on. That way you’ll have a debug log to send the developer if it’s something he needs to look into.

It attempts, gives a couple popups that say continue/cancel... then the "send ISO" screen..

Which gives this error code in an e-mail message:

Unsupported Control Module: ECU ID: 14029; ISO Code: : VarVer: 65 / 19

Just a little update - in the AlfaOBD beta (sent to me for testing by Alexy), the RF Hub connection works perfectly.

Now, is there any way to enable the "mirror lamps" on the powered towing mirrors to light up when putting the truck in reverse? Taht would be pretty badass....
