Yeah, I started pricing one out and reached out to a nearby dealer just in case Ram decides to *adjust* my build....

Hi all,
I just read the majority of these posts. I have a good understanding that we are all excited with very little information to work off of. I placed my order at a local dealer on August 11th. My plan was, or "my wife's plan" was to save for two or three months so we can have a very substantial down on an extremely expensive truck. Our dealer who we have done business with before purchased my truck and another car from us while the market was high. They gave us what I think is a very generous price for both. Both were above trade in value and in the middle of private party in kelly blue book. That being said I felt we should order from them. I have my build sheet I will include here with just msrp listed. I have not received a VIN yet. It seems I should email and ask about that. I am not in a hurry but am as excited as all of you and would like to be able to monitor progress. I know that is probably a very futile effort with Ram. One question I have is for those with a FWP listed on your build sheet. Mine only shows msrp. I have been told they may offer a small discount below msrp but due to the demand on this vehicle most dealers are selling above msrp. What has been your experience with price based on your ordered truck? Thank you in advance for any input and for having me as part of this forum.
MSRP is actually a terrible price for an ordered RAM. There are a handful of dealers around the country that are roughly 8-12% below MSRP.
For example, my MSRP was roughly 72k but the price from dealer is ~63k.

Hey from what I see in this forum, if you are willing to travel you can get it for near EP price + taxes, fees, etc. If your dealer is charging you MSRP you are getting ripped off. Also, It is not your responsibility to stick with your dealer just because they bought some cars from you. Its respectful, but if they arent going to give you an adequate discount then they are taking advantage of you. If the 2022's were on the lot and they were expecting to get MSRP or higher for it, thats fair because the market is still pretty bad. However, by the time most of the 2022's have been delivered, the used car market will be even more back to normal. Used car prices have been trending downward for 2 months and will most likely continue to do so. That means dealers asking MSRP for a truck will be even more ridiculous than it is right now.

For me personally, I am getting a CDI price which is basically EP price. This is because my work does business with Chrysler and I am able to get a discount from a director at FCA. But from what I see again, a lot of people here are also getting EP.

Also as a side note, it is weird that your dealer cropped the FWP price off the build sheet. That is a sketchy thing to do in my opinion.

On an order, Invoice minus holdback at the very least or they can pound sand.

I’ve reached out to local dealers about X plan, which I am a member of. Just a few posts earlier, a saw movement w/ a Limited MegaCab that was ordered a week after mine. It just doesn’t make sense. I REALLY want this Ram, and hope I’m not pushed to make the decision.

The only thing slowing their orders down is if they ordered adaptive steering.

If you’re looking for invoice price, you can use the truck builder on costcoauto.com or nada guide. It’ll show you the MSRP and Invoice price for the options. You should be able to get invoice price at least. Depending on what part of the country your in, you might be able to get 1-5% under invoice without having to travel too far or ship a truck.

Wow, that’s awesome! I think I ordered about a week ahead of you, hope that’s good news to me. Did you get Level 1 package?

Well hopefully even better news for me then as I ordered my Limited about 2 weeks before you! I didn't add any tech stuff so I'm hoping that helps

Thank you for your responses on purchase price. I have no issues driving to buy. We live in far northern California and drove 16 hours to pick up a travel trailer in Boise. Looks like I need to do some negotiating or message some of the dealers posting on here.

Bud Clary for under info or pricing or hit up @AndreaChapmanScottsdale for an Arizona truck. She’s 2-3% under invoice (about 9-10% off MSRP I think she said.

I for sure would have ordered from @AndreaChapmanScottsdale if she was doing those deals when I ordered. Sandi is great , but lake Charles is a long damn drive.

I would give Gary Spencer a call at bud clarys in moses lake WA. I like dealing directly with the sales manager and he made it really easy. As already mentioned he was invoice minus hold back.

Call Bud Clary in Moses Lake, WA. Got invoice minus dealer hold back. Was about $500 over employee pricing. It was about $1,000 more than sandy at Lake Charles, LA but I would’ve spent that getting it home. Gary is the salesman and was great to work with.

I ordered from Dennis dillan, 3500 big horn, 72,xxx msrp, they came in at 63,xxx msrp. They’re not doing deals on in stock vehicles but will give a great discount if you order.
