Trying to dial it in like I have done with other controllers.. would be helpful if there was a manual somewhere.. RAM tells me there is no docs on it..

My trailer is @ 12K..

Thanks

Looks like someone pointed you to an online manual in a different thread.

Trailer brake settings can be viewed/changed in the settings portion of your UConnect system.
I have needed to use "Heavy Electric" for my fifth wheel until I changed to Hydraulic disc brakes.
Was an easy change in the Uconnect (Electric over Hydraulic).

Obviously the (+) and (-) buttons work as they always have without the need to go into any settings.

I when to a safe place and played. Really, a vast difference from what i have been used to. .. seems to be more progressive than the older gear. Pleased with what i have and dismayed at how little the dealership understands the truck.

Completely understand!
No one cares about your knowledge and satisfaction more than you do ;) Some dealers are knowledgeable, but most... well... not so much.

This is a great forum with lots of knowledgeable folks.
I would suggest adding a signature to help folks know what you have for a truck. Different models will have different options and can change how you perform certain tasks.
Just click on your username in the upper right (assuming you're using a computer browser), then select "Signature" in the list that drops down.

When you're in your safe place (lol), start playing around in the settings section of the UConnect.
There's quite a lot there! Many settings I didn't even know about until playing around.

Thank you. I will.

Bion, i actually read the manual, made a list of questions ...then when out and played.

Another thing that gets me is the amount of info w/o any parameters. For example, water temp is 195. From my Cat, i know 220 is hot and my fan would kick in.. i am assuming this engine id the same. trsns and oil oil temp? No idea. Info w/o references is irrelivant and no mention in the manual.. or i may have missed it..

I appreciate your response.

I found Heavy Electric too aggressive for my 12K GVWR 5th. Had it low @3.0 and it was just too "grabby/jerky."

2018 Grand design 303RLS with Dexter axles and "never adjust" self adjusting brakes.

Currently running the gain on 6.0 Light Electric.

There's some amazing info in the thread below created by @Tom2531.

Fan on my CTD HO kicks into high gear around 210. 212 is about the hottest it gets. Highest trans temp on the AISIN I've seen in stop-n-go then heavy pull was 176. Usually it's around 165 locked and rolling 70MPH pulling 16K.

That's really good! Mine (2018 Grand Design), likely same 7k axles as yours, was on Heavy Electric at ~ 8 since new; it still wasn't braking very well.
Checked the pads, springs, etc. when I repacked the bearings and didn't see anything outside the norm.

Oh well, went to disc brakes; will NEVER again own a trailer with electric drums.
