A/C Issues? Anyone else

AC in my 21 seems pretty good. Pretty interesting how much these thing varies coming from the same production line using the same parts. Center left vent with 82F ambient temperature.IMG_1176.JPG

82 degrees? Must be wonderful.

Today in Flori-duh the temp is the mid 90's with 85% humidity and the 'feels like' is 103... the truck read 105 when I got in and turned it on.

Yes, that is more than 10* cooler than mine even after the TSB. I'm sitting at 50-51*. If I had those temps there wouldn't be nothing to complain about.

82*? Lol... of course it's looking good. I'm not sure I'd need AC at 82 ;) .
It's been around 108 average the last couple weeks here. THAT's when you know the AC isn't working well.
I have two company trucks I drive.. a 2020 F150 and a 2020 Ram 2500. The F150, you have to turn down the fan speed or you'll get too cold. The 2500.... you are always wishing it would get colder. The F150, if you let the truck sit and idle while you are out doing something, it's freezing when you get back in, even the seats are cold. The 2500 sitting sucks when you get back in. If it's not moving, it's not cooling well.
I sure hope my 2022 that's coming doesn't have this issue.

Summertime here is California is consistently at or above 100 degrees. My ‘21 2500 does pretty good with the A/C. My only complaint is that the fan speed doesn’t go high enough for the rear passengers. The air coming out of the vents is plenty cold, just not a lot of volume.

Interesting. My fan on the two highest settings blows like a hurricane. So noisy that talking is not really possible. But it does not blow cold enough to accomplish the job once it is hot outside. Here in Oregon I used to think it did not matter as we usually got maybe 6 days a year at 100 degrees or above and maybe another 10 or 12 in the 90's. Last year was much hotter but my old truck did well with the A/C. We have had 6 days of 100+ temps in the last 10 days and probably over 20 in the last two months. Every other day except maybe 5 or 6 since the beginning of June or earlier has been over 90 so the new truck has more work to do than the old. I just ordered a digital probe thermometer to see what the actual temps are in the vents to determine if I have a legitimate problem.

Just to clarify, the air volume from the dash vents is fine. It’s the rear vents that I was talking about being a bit weak.

I didn't know I even had vents in the rear of my CC. But sure enough the build sheet says "Front/Rear Climate Control Outlets". :) I have not had any passengers in the rear seat yet. Well, except for my dog. I suppose I could ask her how things are back there today since it is 103 right now!

I got the A/C TSB done a month ago. So far I am happy with the results. My A/C is working good here in Virginia with 98 degree days and 70 dew points. (feels like 105-114) The condensate water is flowing. :)

Thanks! That is interesting although a bit difficult to follow all the way through. I wonder if that could be it as I feel the A/C is not blowing cool enough. But my wife in the passenger seat says it is plenty cool. I thought it was just our different perceptions but maybe not. My probe thermometer is due to arrive tomorrow and I will get all the vent temps and see.

I think if you set up the fan to blow on "face" only it will blow stronger in the back.

So far everyone that’s had the tsb done says the same about the coolant smell. It goes away after a bit.
Possibility, but I just got my 3500 back from having the TSB done and the carpet on the passenger side is quite damp to the touch a week later. Oh, and the truck is dripping coolant every 18 seconds (hasn't been started for 30 hours). I posted about it in the AC Fix TSB (Pre 8/20 build trucks) thread.

Sounds like they screwed something up to me! Take it back for try #2 if you are brave enough!

Take it back in. That is not normal.
