2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Funny how ramchat tells some people their 22 build is done and they tell some 22 production didn't start.Trustworthy source.
You work for FCA and can't disclose what's going on with the builds, and maybe don't really know.
The rest of us can only guess, and what we hear is problably wrong.
Crazy info everywhere on this thread.
In operation, hasn't started yet, was D1, now D status. Tech issues, etc.
I should have stayed away from this thread, LOL.
Don't know why it is such a secret.
I want to buy what they are selling, with reasonable current information. Sounds easy to me.
Can't even get a pic of what I'm spending $65K on.

Your VIN will let you pull a window sticker if your truck is being/has been built. I would take everything that RamChat says with a grain of salt. They were notoriously inaccurate when I built my 1500. For ****s and giggles I hit them up after my truck was delivered and they told me it was in trim.

One of the things i find most interesting about Ram and the schedule of building trucks currently is i ordered my truck on Saturday 31 July, by Monday 02 Aug i already had a VIN. If there was a delay i would think they wouldn't be able to issue VINs so quickly.

VIN means nothing in the build process, basically just a serial number. As soon as an order is received and confirmed, a VIN can be issued.

Probably true, but i've ordered a few vehicles and have never had a vin issued that quickly especially considering i ordered on a saturday afternoon and had a vin before lunch on monday. so my point is if they are rushing to issue VINs there might not be as many delays as some might think.

Mine was the same way, I was super surprised it came that quick. I read on some other forums that it took up to 3 weeks before they got a VIN

Thats weird because my VIN was given to me the next day
When I ordered from Aaron, he was alone doing all the internet deals and busy as hell. Sandi was hired very shortly after. He actually told me that he was hiring her when we were on the phone entering my order.

Spoke to Sandi earlier this week. They are so busy they have hired more people to help her. Happy to hear they are swamped! Have a great weekend all!

Was trying to decide changing to a limited vs Laramie for the specific reason of the suede inserts on the leather interior in a Laramie. I love the way the suede looks but I'm concerned if it is going to look like crap in a couple years. Seems like water, dust, wear and just crap in general Is going to make it look terrible down the road. Anyone have experience with the long term haul with the suede inserts? I'm about ready to switch to a limited model just to avoid the suede.

I have a 2019 1500 Laramie right now (same seats) and the inserts have held up great. To be fair I don't have kids so your results may vary, but mine look as good as they did when I picked the truck up two and a half years ago.
