2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I'm curious about what some of the info on the POC means. My POC from yesterday has the following:

Status: D - firm schedule: serial number is assigned
Est. Ship date: 8/12/2021 1:59 AM (not sure how they can get that down to the minute)
Scheduling priority: 1-Sold Order
Build Priority: 01
PSP Month/Week is blank.

I'm seeing D1 status on some posts here, so I'm not sure why this is still showing D status with a ship date of 8/12
That's strange, they do have 3 shifts there, the midnight shift works 6 days 7 hours a day the other 2 work 5 days and split the leftover time, sounds like Sunday night they will be busy!

Any additional insight from Aaran on delivery times? Option changes?
Just said right now it's a guess but said 12-15 weeks. Wouldn't let him add tow hooks on mine. Said they might have made them standard or factory was out of parts. I chose convenience pkg for the 3 1/2" color screen. wanted the 8.4 without nav. Can't have both. So I went with the nav and kept the pkg. The new mapping for 2022 are Tom Tom.

With a new vehicle purchase the dealer registers it to your resident state and the sales tax gets added to the contract then gets paid to that state. You’ll only pay tax once. If you move and register the vehicle in another state you won’t pay sales tax but you will most likely pay a registration fee based on vehicle value.
Not 100% true. It depends on the time and the state. If you move within a year to certain states, you'll pay the difference in taxes if the state has a higher sales tax on vehicles than the state you're moving to.

Oh snap!! That would suck! Thanks for the correction.

I'm retired military and have registered my vehicles/new vehicles purchased in at least 5 States. I have has a drivers license in one State, vehicle registered in another State and insurance in the State that I was Stationed in (all 3 were different) and it was ALL legal....where the average person would not be able to do that. It really depends on the State. Some States will collect the Sales Tax at the time of purchase and as long as the State that you're registering in is equal to or higher you won't pay any tax. If you pay 5% for example and then go to PA and register you will pay that extra 1% or more since its 6% in most counties and as high as 7 to 8% in other counties. I bought a new truck in PA the dealer didn't collect the Sales tax gave me a Temporary tag and I drove to GA. When I registered in GA as that was where I was stationed I had to pay their tax. Also Not ALL States have a property Tax on the vehicles value that usually decreases each year. Kansas does but PA does not and in PA you register as a passenger car (standard fee) or the Trucks weight class....but there is no property tax. Fortunately for my Active duty military in Kansas at the time was allowed two vehicles per year that you didn't have to pay property tax. I really depends on the State where you purchase and the State where you register....do your home work so you're not blind sided with I fee that you didn't know was coming. Also everywhere I've been always gave tax credit on the trade difference towards the new vehicle....I have heard that CA doesn't do that...you always pay the full tax on the vehicle whether you trade or not.

Mil rules are almost always different.

We ordered a Saab before leaving Germany and picked it up in NJ after arriving stateside (long fugly story in that delay). Home state WI wanted to charge me "use tax" to title it there so I told them to pound sand. I titled it in KS and never paid a nickel in tax due to Mil status. ETS'd and moved back to WI for a few years and still never paid the man. Traded it on a Bronco II and didn't have much tax value to pay. Moved that one to CO and then the fun started with the ad valorem annual "tax."

Currently active duty stationed in Colorado. It costs more to register in CO than it did in CA. I think when I return from the sandbox, I'm going to register the new truck in ND to save on sales tax and registration since that's my residence.

Usually once the truck is built it goes to a "Body Vendor" to have certain items installed. Its usually a team that all they do is install certain options. Yours might be painted ahead of time (same time as the cab of the truck) and then install the LED lights after the build. Once complete the window sticker will be available and the truck will be ready to ship once its released from the factory....pending any QA/QC inspections. I know for example my 2020 JGC Trailhawk had to go to a body vendor once it was built to have the Rock Rails installed. I'm not sure its a contractor or if its other FCA/Ram employees who install these.

EDIT: @mxsnow might be able to answer this much better?
Thank you. Does anyone know specifically what the

Does anyone know what the “Vendor Painted Cargo Box Tracking” is? Anyone ordered a rambox + rambox utility group and can speak to this? I’m wondering if it’s the bed liner, or if it’s the cargo side rails, or… I’ve only ever seen silver cargo rails in a rambox, and only ever seen a rambox bed with spray-in liner.

It’s just the spray in bed liner specifically. Nothing to do with ram boxes.

Beckty85, just noticed that you ordered yours from Hunter Dodge in Lancaster CA who helped you? I used Dale ball, I ordered a 22 2500 Laramie 7/22/21

That’s a mistake on the spreadsheet. I ordered from Sandi at mark dodge. Hunter would have been nice as I’m only 4-5 hours from there. I bought my Gen 2 from Hunter.
