2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Hey folks. Playing around with orders and stuck. Was originally going to do a Laramie highly optioned. After building a Limited, it really isn't that much more. Stuck on whether to do air suspension or the off road package. Thoughts?
I went back and forth with the same thing. I ordered a 2500 Limited with the Off Road package for a couple of reasons, one of which it appears the upgraded Bilstein shocks may actually improve the ride quality. Some say the air suspension on the 3500 makes for a better ride but no such claims on the 2500. With the other issues others have pointed out on the air suspension, and my trailer is only 8k pounds, I passed on the air suspension. Probably need to consider what you will be towing also. My opinion, hope this helps.

Same here. The Laramie I had built wasn’t much less expensive than a Limited. So, I ordered a Limited with OffRoad package, because the Bilsteins are worth a try. I did, however, order a decal delete to get rid of the 4x4 decal from factory.

Looks like they updated the mobile version a few days ago, and basically “broke” it, making it extremely hard to navigate. It also dropped the 2022 MY selection from the HD Rams, because as of a month ago, I could get service info and schematics for the 2022 HDs. OTOH, 2022 ram DT is selectable.
The 22 HD's are still on the service site

Not worth the trade off to me. So if your air system fails on a trip your stuck with a leaf pack that essentially needs the help

You want the rear OEM air...

Have driven both and the OEM air trucks ride much better. The idea that the OEM air truck could not tow with a blown airbag because of a "weak leaf pack" is laughable and total CNN misinformation. Dont believe it.

You can still tow, with some sag,the bag won't blow, more likely a compressor or sensor

3500 Limited Ordered 6-19 NG115508

I did the same thing, decal delete with the Night Edition. Can’t wait!

They take a bunch of leafs out with rear air.
The 2500's with rear air have no coil or leaf springs...only the air suspension. My 2019 3500 SRW with factory rear air had four leaf's to the front of the axle and three to the rear of the axle. I only heard of 1 factory rear air failing on a 2019 Ram 2500 on the Cummins forum. The guy was way over loaded and should have had at least a 3500 SRW or a dually would have been better. Ram has a load weight sensor and found out he was way over his payload but they still replaced everything under warranty. He was towing a 5th wheel with a heavy pin weight and was going too fast down hill and the road leveled out on a bridge at the bottom. When he leveled out the bags broke. he had about twice the amount of weight than his payload sticker said. He traded the truck for a 3500 before the parts were in to fix the 2500.

You are correct,I think heard about that at work

New member here. Just placed an order for a 3500 Big Horn. Regular Cab, Level B, Sport, Snow Chief.

The wait begins.

Have you checked with your dealer?
Crazy, I think I have the lowest VIN on the tracker
Oh yeah. He is a good friend of mine and we chat almost daily. I have been known to commandeer his computer from time to time to do my own research :) Yes, your 384 is lowest on our tracker. My 518 is pretty damn close. Fingers crossed I hear something next week.

Got my VIN. I’ll add it to the tracking site shortly.

Ordered 7/30 with Sandi. She advised to contact her in September for production updates.

2500 6.4/4.10 Mega Cab Big Horn with Ram Box, level B, Off Road, Night Edition in Black.

I went with a pretty optioned out Laramie as I had to have 6 seats. Not an option on the limited. I did 3500 no air and will add an airlift system after the fact for the adjustability. From what I have read the rear leaf pack is different on the 3500 vs 3500 with the factory air and does ride better unloaded.
When originally ordered I had zero plans of going with a big 5th wheel so went mega cab. I have since ordered a carbon toy hauler. Although I wish I would have done CCLB, I’ll be alright, but glad I went 3500.
Same here, I went mega cab 3500 but sometimes wish I would have gone with the long bed. I ordered a custom 48 foot race trailer with living quarters and I know it will be somewhat of a challenge maneuvering her in tight spaces. Would be awesome if ram offered a longer bed with the mega cab and larger fuel tank.

There are Aftermarket companies that do long bed conversions on the Mega

Sandi must be getting overwhelmed with emails if she’s advising you wait to contact her until September for updates.

Ehhh ... it's only a few weeks anyway and I ordered less than a week ago. Her CS and response time has been exceptional. If I don't hear from her by mid September then I will email her.

I have a take home car for work and still have a reliable high mileage Chevy Suburban that I'll sell once I start making plans to either ship the Mega home or fly one way and road trip back. Good Times!

Edit: Added my build info and VIN to the tracking thread.
