Used AlfaOBD to program TPMS and Tire size.. it worked, but with ABS/Camera faults?

@Brav - not sure if you did this, but there are a few additional inputs you need to do in Alfaobd when you change the tire size. I have included the procedure I used and have zero faults or inability to use back-up cameras, etc. See the attached PDF file.

Basically, right after you enter the tire size circumference and press "start" (cycle to off, wait a minute, and then back to run) - you need to go back into Alfaobd and select:

Note - you're going to get a bunch of flashing lights and alarms - the following will clear them up.
  1. Your truck model
  2. ABS
  3. ABS Ate/Continental
This is now ABS Bosch/Continental/Teves/TRW PowerNet MY2019+ PowerNet (or MY2013-18 PowerNet)
  4. Click the "hood open" icon at the bottom
  5. Select "ABS Initialization" from the drop down (read the instructions)
  6. Press Start
  7. Back to the drop down and select "Static ECU Initialization"
  8. Press Start
  9. Click on the "check engine" icon at the bottom
  10. Select "Clear Faults"
  11. Cycle the key to off and then back to run
  12. Click back on the "hood open" icon
  13. Select "Clearing Rolls Information" from the drop down (should be at the bottom of the list)
  14. Cycle key again
  15. Although it doesn't say it, I would click on the "check engine" icon one more time and clear faults
  16. Turn key off and disconnect everything (OBDII connector, etc.)
  17. Start your truck up and take it for a spin
When I entered the circumference for my new tire size, I used the actual measured size from the manufacturer. For example - I have 37" tires, but they actually measure 36.54". I used the tire size calculator in the Alfaobd thread on the other Ram Forum and came up with the correct number to enter...and it worked!

Hope this helps!
just registered on this forum for help with this exact issue. when i run static ecu initialization it the procedure fails. im now stuck with abs and engine lights also 4wd snad speedo are inop. any ideas at all? im attempting to download the windows version and use advanced mode but this laptop is pretty dated and doesnt want to run the program. any chance on resolving this with the android app or is it broken?
any help at all is greatly appreciated

The android app issue was fixed not long after this initial problem. Unless it's been reintroduced, it's something else.

Have you looked at the PDF provided earlier in the thread?

P.S. You're replying to a banned or deleted user so they won't see your post.

look on you tube for Charles Pages. He has a detail video about clearing the faults. I had to do it on my2021 when I changed tire size and TPMS. I used my laptop to do it with.

Yes I saw the pdf and it was helpful as the module name has changed abs continental is no longer available I see it's been substituted now but for some reason the static ecu function fails truck is 2017 2500 cummins .I'm also running off no sleep so maybe a nap and I'll report back with what I find thanks for the info

That's the video i was following and the post above is updated as alfa obd appears to have removed the abs continental option and substituted it

I'm not connected, but I see it as the third option down in ABS module. Both Windows (v2.2.9.0) and Android (v2.2.0.0)

For some reason it kept failing to connect to that module I think this is the source of my problem and why I can't run static ecu I'm going to attempt a reinstall or the app and try the procedure again tomrorow morning and see how it goes. I'll be sure to report back thanks so much for yalls help.

Make sure there's not another app connecting to the OBD reader.

If I run torque, I have to shut it down completely before closing the app to use AlfaOBD.

Yeah I noticed that but it wasn't the data link that I had trouble connecting to it was the control unit I reinstalled the app so hopefully it was just a bug. If I can't get this procedure completed what would be the best course of action? Is alfa obd capable of reverting back to stock parameters or would that require a dealer reflash?

What OBD reader are you using?

Some of the cheap ELM327 readers aren't fast enough.

Do you have access to a Windows laptop?

FWIW, you should be able to drive it with it lit up like Christmas, just won't have any safety options available.

That's probably my issue over got an old elm 27 I've had for years yes I have am old Toshiba running windows 7 but when I attempted to run alfa obd and the add on application it force closes the app itself it may be that the laptop is too old its from around 2010 if I'm not mistaken lol

Do you have the required version of .NET installed?

Where are you located? Maybe a member with a newer version can stop by to help.

I'm located right outside Louisville Kentucky in Mt Washington when I attempt to run static ecu initialization I get an error that says Coddington data not received and the procedure fails

What MY is AlfaOBD detecting for the BCM and/or ECU?

Thanks to Brutal I am able to clear all alarms and change tire size on my 2020.
You must be on Windows version, advanced mode, ABS Ate/Continental and force it into MY2013-2018 PowerNet in order to get all options on the drop-down menu.
Do not let it disconnect or idle at any moment throughout the process.
I could use a little help. I got the abs light to clear changing my tire size, but going through this over and over I have an ESC light and service trailer brake system warning on start up. My Speedo is right on now. Just so all the facts are known I do probably need an alignment. I put a leveling kit on (months ago) and my wheel is just slightly off after that. I tried this with my tires straight and my steering wheel straight. I’m pretty anal about stuff like that and it’s not off enough to bother me. Any help is appreciated.

It might not be enough to bother you, but if it is enough that things don't return past the proper threshold after turning, you won't get them to go away until you adjust the drag link.
Luckily, you can adjust yourself without the need for an alignment shop (though you may still want to get that done).

Once you get it centered a quick trip around the block where you turn and then let everything return to center should clear up those lights.

Tried

It worked for me, I mistankely changed the tire size in 2013 2500 St without reading the caution note on the alfaobd app. The Abs, Trailer brake and Throtle Control lights all came up on the cluster.
Thank you for this contribution, i was about to head to the dealer, where they would have probably made me swap a lot of parts.
