FCA Releases United States & Canada Sales Numbers For May 2019:
Ram Truck Hits 12 Months Of Straight Record Sales In The United States...
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has released their sales numbers for the month of May and there is some exciting news. During the month, the Ram Truck brand having its 12th consecutive monthly sales record in the United States. However, carbon taxes and high prices on gasoline have been hurting Ram Canada sales numbers.
United States Sales:
FCA US’ second biggest brand, had a phenomenal month, with a total sales of 67,117 units sold. That was up 29% over May of 2018, and continues the brand’s success with 24% more sales for the year, compared to the same time last year.
The Ram Pickup lineup led the way for the brand with 62,250 units leaving dealer lots. That is up 33% over the same time period last year. The Ram ProMaster van was the second best-selling nameplate, which was down 11% over last May’s numbers, with 3,651 units leaving dealer lots. The Ram ProMaster van is still having a solid year, with 55% better sales for the year compared to the same time year. The Ram ProMaster City also had a great month, up 20% with 1,216 of the compact vans finding new homes.
Canada Sales:
While Ram 1500 sales have been down, Ram Heavy Duty trucks saw total sales rise 122% with 2,699 vehicles sold, compared with results from the same month the prior year, setting an all-time sales record. Through the calendar year 2019, Ram Heavy Duty sales are up 23%, compared with the same time last year. The all-new Ram Heavy Duty, which will out-power, out-tow and out-haul every other pickup truck available, has begun to arrive in dealer showrooms across the country.
Ram Canada saw a total of 9,697 Ram Truck leave dealer lots in the month of May. That was down 22% from the same time period last year. Both the ProMaster and ProMaster City also had a decline in sales for the month.
The Ram Canada is down 4% overall so far this year, compared to the same time period last year. Ram Trucks are down 6% so far this year.
