So, I posted a while back that I was looking for a bed step. I was contacted by a member through DM by the name of @Ben76. He mentioned he knew someone selling one and gave me the guys email. I contacted the guy and he wrote back with pictures of step and a price. Nothing seemed fishy. The price was for a new one, $330, so I researched. I found one for $310 new, so I sent back that I would only take it for $260. He immediately accepted. The whole time, his communication never threw red flags. I’ve dealt with numerous scammers from Craigslist so I call myself a good judge. Well, when I asked what his PayPal was, he mentioned that HE had been scammed before and wouldn’t use it. He said he only accepted CashApp or Velle. Well, I’m quite comfortable using PayPal, and never used the others. I did a quick research and they both said don’t send money to anyone you don’t know. Well, I’m the meantime, he emails back and said he wants to give me a friend of his PayPal info!! By this time, I’m suspect! I did a quick Google image search of the step, and it didn’t take long for me to find the EXACT pictures he had sent me!! This whole time, as soon as I emailed him, he would respond within a minute or 2. I emailed him and called him out on it!! No response!! It amazes me the time people will spend on scamming people out of their hard earned money!! I hope this saves someone here some time, wasted dealing with people like this. I never knew there was a scam setup on forums!! Oh yeah, I went back to the message that @Ben76 sent last night. I looked at his account and it had only been active for 14 hrs!
