So I've noticed lately that my truck does not fill up anywhere near what it's supposed to be. I've run the gas down to about 20 mi left and can only fit about 25 gals, which is making me think they put a regular 1500 tank on my truck as we're supposed to have a 31 gal. tank. Anyone else have the same issue??

I can run mine down until it does not read any miles left :) and I have gotten around 29 gallons in it. Only real way to know is to run until it dies and then fill up. I have been tempted to try that but have not done it yet. My guess is if you ran out of gas right by the pump you would get 31 gallons +- a few tenths.

I think its more if you run out of gas at the pump, you MAY be able to put 29 Gallons in the tank, but it will be close.

You will never be able to use all 31 gallons in the tank. ;)

I know I have a totally different truck, but... When I first got it I had the Titan tank installed. The installer asked me to run the old tank low so they did not have to remove it with 15+ gallons of fuel in it. I ran it to the point where it said there were very few miles left and the warning light was on for quite a few miles also before I dropped it off. Even still, they told me the tank had at least 3 or 4 gallons of fuel left in it when they removed it. So I believe the miles to empty and warning light have a big margin of error.

I typically fill mine when the lie-o-meter says I have 50ish miles of range left and it takes about 23 gallons.

Weird, my f150 I could run her down and put in almost 35 and change on the 36 gal tank.

It's built that way for idiots to not run out of gas. I can be on 0 miles left for 10 miles and still only fill up 28 gallons.

In my F250 with a V10, I could be on 0 miles for 50 miles and still not put all the gas in the tank held.
I did once get a bobble when running that low, but I made a hard fast turn at a corner. :D
