Just bought a 25 2500 tradesman, great truck so far. Picked up a fabtech 5” lift cheap, had 37” Toyo’s mounted on method wheels. Was at the dealer getting the tires mounted and I asked the service tech how they felt about warranty work on lifted trucks. He said “we’ll take care of you, but if ram asked for pictures it out of my hands”. Question is, is that a common practice for ram? His response has me second guessing my plans.

IMHO, warranty is a crap shoot. Some folks are heavily modified and their dealer does warranty work without question, some are stock as can be and the dealer/stellantis finds a reason to deny the warranty. If that’s what you want to do, then do it. I think if you don’t abuse your truck, you’ll be fine.

On the warranty issue... my truck is mostly stock and Ram asked for 2 rounds of pictures and oil records from the dealer after the grid heater nut failed. Ultimately, everything was covered, but it was quite the process. It has me debating on what future mods to make (BD Diesel Grid Heater Kit/Hamilton Flat Tappet kit) while I'm under warranty.

In your instance, larger tires could be used to void a transmission warranty etc.

That's exactly what has me concerned.

The 1st job of any warranty company is to deny a claim. That is their opening move i'm convinced in every circumstance. So if you any modifications that has the potential to making any warranty claim harder. Impossibe? No...just more hassle.
