Without getting into future plans too much, thinking about selling

What do you think private party pricing (real world not made up catalog) would be?

22,000 miles, excellent condition. Only modification was black exhaust tip, splash guards front and rear, folding hard cover MX4, window tint. Thinking $76,000

Look up KBB value and go from there it, dealers are still hard up on trucks and may give you a pretty penny aswell

Thats where I have started at but I feel they are over inflated a bit. Private sale is definitely the way to go as long as the differential makes up for the loss of tax credit on a trade in. I am considering a 1500 Limited with the 3.0 Gen 3, I will not be going much into the 11,000 lbs towing any longer. Maybe 8,000 twice a year (if that), majority would be around 5,500 lbs.

I mean why not just keep the truck you have now unless you are going to a car of some sort why sell the truck at a loss?

I agree with the above, don't rule out getting a quote from the dealer, the high end loaded 3/4 tons are hard to come by and dealers are paying quite a bit for them.

76k for a truck that listed for 89k with 22,000 miles is aggressive, but depends on your local market. I'm in the northeast, when looking for mine, once I narrowed it to certain features and colors, there were like 8 or 10 used in a 100 mile radius. That's not much to choose from. When I found mine I was salivating over the Patriot Blue and the salesman knew it, wouldn't move on price and I paid 65K for a '21 that listed for 74k, though only 7,000 miles on it.

Hope this helps. The non-black or white Ram's have an audience (like me) and people will see a blue, or gray, or red 2500 that's loaded with every feature like yours and just WANT it.

Title of the thread is "Without getting into future plans too much" :)

I would not be at a loss. I will not divulge the purchase price but I would be ahead pretty darn easy... Life style change does not require the 3/4 or 1 ton. Heck, I even tried to throw the TRX into the mix but the wife said no. If fuel economy is one thing to look at, just no.

Honestly i would try trade in first the dealers are still paying really well

Nice truck, congrats! I'd like to drive one of those to see what it's like.

Wow, seems like just yesterday I drove through your parking lot on the Arsenal to see the new truck. Guessing this one will make that long commute a little more efficient . . .

Congrats on the new purchase. Just out of curiosity, why go with the eco diesel rather than the hemi?
Looked at them a few years back but they were having some serious issues. We have evaluated our future plans as we wind down this work thing. Could not justify the 2500 any longer but still needed something to occasionally tow my tractor around. I am around 6000-6500lbs loaded with that. Also, it may just be me getting older and worn down but this Megacab feels like it has the hardest seats I have ever had in ANY of the trucks I have had over the years. On our return trip from a 16 hour drive, It felt like my tailbone was broken. It was a great truck, will make someone an awesome truck, just not me. On the subject of the tractor, I had a Ram Rebel with the 5.7, I pulled the tractor one time and averaged an abysmal 7.5 mpg on that 16 hour trip and the Hemi screamed the entire way in 6th gear.

Another side note to the military folks and @RamCares, the military bonus cash system they switched to is not allowing me to buy another vehicle with the bonus cash. We used it when we purchased the wife's new Jeep last month and now that I am requesting it again I get this error.... Dang shame if its a one and done with RAM but GMC and Ford still do it multiple times. Ram Bonus Cash Failure.JPG

So I took delivery of the new Ecodiesel today and we drove it for around 230 miles. When we left the dealer it said the range was 460 miles (33 gal tank) which was way low. As we started driving the range began increasing and I made mileage...! It was pulling (per screen) 25.3mpg and the remaining range showed 604 miles. Mix of back roads, highway, and city. The only downer to the whole process as mentioned to @RamCares in the previous post, I was not able to get the Military Bonus cash due to the new verification system stating I have exceeded my limit. Apparently they only want you to buy one vehicle? Was able to verify and get it when we purchased the Jeep GC in Dec, now in Jan and the offer glitches. I am more than happy with the deal I got but $500 is $500 in accessories. I got an email from customer care who sent me a link for Military Car Sales (only for active duty stationed abroad), does nothing for me.
