Thats where I have started at but I feel they are over inflated a bit. Private sale is definitely the way to go as long as the differential makes up for the loss of tax credit on a trade in. I am considering a 1500 Limited with the 3.0 Gen 3, I will not be going much into the 11,000 lbs towing any longer. Maybe 8,000 twice a year (if that), majority would be around 5,500 lbs.Look up KBB value and go from there it, dealers are still hard up on trucks and may give you a pretty penny aswell
I mean why not just keep the truck you have now unless you are going to a car of some sort why sell the truck at a loss?Thats where I have started at but I feel they are over inflated a bit. Title of the thread is "Without getting into future plans too much"I mean why not just keep the truck you have now unless you are going to a car of some sort why sell the truck at a loss?
I would not be at a loss. I will not divulge the purchase price but I would be ahead pretty darn easy... Life style change does not require the 3/4 or 1 ton. Heck, I even tried to throw the TRX into the mix but the wife said no. If fuel economy is one thing to look at, just no.I mean why not just keep the truck you have now unless you are going to a car of some sort why sell the truck at a loss?
Honestly i would try trade in first the dealers are still paying really wellI would not be at a loss. I will not divulge the purchase price but I would be ahead pretty darn easy... My first choice. Tax incentive for a trade is way better than out right sale and repurchase.Honestly i would try trade in first the dealers are still paying really well
I'd guess MPGs, I used to get about 28 hwy with my ecodiesel. If it had more than 7k lbs towing I'd still be in it.Congrats on the new purchase. Just out of curiosity, why go with the eco diesel rather than the hemi?
Looked at them a few years back but they were having some serious issues. We have evaluated our future plans as we wind down this work thing. Could not justify the 2500 any longer but still needed something to occasionally tow my tractor around. I am around 6000-6500lbs loaded with that. Also, it may just be me getting older and worn down but this Megacab feels like it has the hardest seats I have ever had in ANY of the trucks I have had over the years. On our return trip from a 16 hour drive, It felt like my tailbone was broken. It was a great truck, will make someone an awesome truck, just not me. On the subject of the tractor, I had a Ram Rebel with the 5.7, I pulled the tractor one time and averaged an abysmal 7.5 mpg on that 16 hour trip and the Hemi screamed the entire way in 6th gear.Congrats on the new purchase. Wait, so I was supposed to be able to justify buying my 2500? Oops, didn't realize that.Could not justify the 2500 any longer
A very generous offer I would sayAha, so you did trade the 2500.
Nice!A very generous offer I would say

Another side note to the military folks and @RamCares, the military bonus cash system they switched to is not allowing me to buy another vehicle with the bonus cash. We used it when we purchased the wife's new Jeep last month and now that I am requesting it again I get this error.... Dang shame if its a one and done with RAM but GMC and Ford still do it multiple times. View attachment 50154
