Hey guys I’m trying to install my light bar to my switch panel but having some difficulties. The harness that it came with has 2 switches that control different sections of the lightbar, the wiring color scheme makes no sense to me.

Coming from the lightbar is 3 wires, blue, white, and black. These go to 2 relays and a fuse. The first switch is black, blue, and red the second is red, white, and black.

I’m trying to keep it so that I can still control the separate sections but the way it’s wired is driving me nuts.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi mate,

Looking at your switches and off of what you said the light bar circuits will be powered (from your switch) by the white (positive)/black (negative) and blue (positive)/black (negative). The black will be a common between the two circuits hence only the one wire.

Looking specifically at the switches you can see that the red wire is a common between both switches. this is the wire that the power will be coming from and flow through to either the blue wire or white wire. Noting you said that there are also relays you'll find that the blue and white wire from the switches will energise the respective relay which in turn provides power to the respective light bar circuit.

You should find that you only need to connect a fused fatter red wire and a fatter black wire, these can potentially be connected direct to battery or other 12V power source (say accessories feed so that you only have the light bar on when your accessories or run position is selected.

Hope this helps

Got it figured out thank you. Just needed someone’s brain as mine wasn’t working.
