Not sure whatyou plan on installing but the factory charger in my 2021 is useless. It is really picky about the position of the phone. I don't bother with it.Picked up a new 2022 2500 Laramie and it does not have the wireless charging. Curious if anyone has done their own mod to add it in the same location that comes from the factory?

Shouldn't your phone almost always be out of line of site while driving? I like where it is because it's out of the way and I'm not using my phone anyway if I'm behind the wheel.Another hard pass here.
Can't stand the phone being out of ~line of sight when driving.

I do have the bulletproof mount, but only use that for the phone if we're doing nav that's not in the trucks GPS
I mean, the radio yes, it is out of my line of site, I have to specifically look at it just like my phone which is located right next to it.Is your rearview mirror or radio screen out of sight while driving?

As for the rear view, I think we can all agree there is a difference in driving safety between checking your rear view vs. sending/ reading a text or whatever it is people do on their phone while driving.
Fair, I always assume if somebody has a phone in their hand or looking at it, that they are not paying attention and is potential for unexpected maneuver. Been in multiple accidents of people on phones hitting me, guess I'm being judgmental. You're making (invalid) assumptions about how I use my phone while driving. It's generally my music source, and often my GPS. Both are used mostly audibly. It's also my TTPMS App.
Now, if you want to talk about those that have 2-3-4 gadgets on their dash, obstructing their views, that's a different conversation.
IMHO, having the phone below the radio is unsafe if you have to look at it even once.
It works pretty well, but if you have a taller phone it certainly won't fit vertically and horizontally it may not hit the sweet spot (ask me how I know)I like where the phone sits in my truck. You can see it if you need to, but it's not in a distracting spot.
I can't believe with all of the tech in this truck they have wireless CarPlay, but not wireless chargng.
I am going to install this:

My solution, which I realize it not wireless, was to just get a really short USB cable (12") and keep it plugged into the port just below the factory phone holder. Since it is so short it doesn't hang down or interfere in the space near or around the phone holder. Again, I realize it isn't wireless, but placing the phone in the holder and attaching the cable isn't that big of an ordeal. The cable is so short you almost don't notice it as it tucks in nicely within the holder. Added benefit is faster charging.
Was u ever able to do the installI do have two cables in there now. One USB on the passenger side and one USB-C on the driver side. I just like tech and gizmos. LOL
